Time is Your Life — A Reminder from the Salaf ⏳🤍
The Salaf didn’t see time as something to “pass”… they saw it as something that is taking pieces of them with it.
Every hour wasn’t just an hour — it was a فرصة (opportunity) to get closer to Allah… or a loss they could never recover.
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:“Wasting time is worse than death, because death cuts you off from the dunya, while wasting time cuts you off from Allah and the Hereafter.”
They weren’t necessarily doing more — they were doing what mattered:
  • Protecting their salah like their life depended on it
  • Filling their day with Qur’an, dhikr, and knowledge
  • Guarding their time from distractions
  • Being consistent, even in the smallest acts
Reflection: It’s not about being “busy” — it’s about being intentional.
Ask yourself: Is what I’m doing right now bringing me closer to Allah… or just passing time?
Because the scariest loss isn’t failing —it’s reaching the end and realising you had time… but you let it go.
Start protecting your hours like they matter — because they do 🌱
