I can’t control outcomes. I can only control my effort. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Tie it and rely upon Allah.” I do the work I show up consistently I give my best Then I let go. Attachment to results creates suffering. I focus on what I put in, not what I get out.

Sufyān ibn ‘Uyaynah رحمه الله said: إِذَا كُنْتَ فِي زَمَانٍ يُرْضَى فِيهِ بِالْقَوْلِ دُونَ الْفِعْلِ، وَالْعِلْمِ دُونَ الْعَمَلِ، فَاعْلَمْ بِأَنَّكَ فِي شَرِّ زَمَانٍ بَيْنَ شَرِّ النَّاسِ. “If you live in a time in which people are content with speech without action, and with knowledge without implementation, then know that you are in the worst of times among the worst of people.” Ibṭāl al-Ḥiyal: (1/34) I often see people seeking knowledge and never implementing it and they remind me of the reference to a donkey carrying books. Just as the deen is knowledge coupled with action, this is same concept we apply to life in this duniya to achieve self-mastery whilst striving towards success in the duniya & akhirah.
