Your Energy Is a Generator, Not a Battery
Your energy is not a battery that you keep draining until you have nothing left. Your energy is a generator. And a generator does not work by being forced. It works when it is fuelled, maintained, and connected to the right source. Sometimes we blame ourselves for being “lazy” when the real issue is that we are trying to operate in a way we were never built to sustain. You cannot expect clarity from a mind that is overloaded. You cannot expect discipline from a body that is neglected. You cannot expect barakah in your work if your soul is disconnected from Allah. Working with your energy is not weakness It is wisdom. It means knowing when to push, when to pause, when to reflect, when to act, and when to return back to Allah before returning back to the task. Because not every low-energy moment is a failure.Sometimes it is feedback. Feedback that your system needs refining. Feedback that your sleep, food, training, environment, or spiritual connection needs attention. The successful person is not the one who burns themselves out trying to prove they are disciplined. The successful person is the one who learns how to operate with ihsan — with excellence, awareness, and intention. Don’t fight your energy. Understand it. Fuel it Direct it. Because when your energy is connected to the right intention, even small actions can carry huge barakah.
Living by Design, Not Default
Today’s call on the Personal Operating System (POS) made me reflect deeply. Just like Apple runs on iOS and Android runs on APK, we all operate on a system—but most of us haven’t intentionally designed ours. One key takeaway: you cannot build a system without an objective. Without direction, you end up moving without purpose. Core values also stood out to me—they define what you say no to. Because if you say yes to everything, you say yes to nothing. The most powerful part was the Mirror Test: - The world sees me as… - What I truly am… - Who I am becoming… It exposes the gap between perception and reality. You might be working hard externally, but internally there can still be misalignment. That’s why upgrading your self-concept is just as important as taking action. At the end of the day, this isn’t about showing others anything—it’s about understanding how you operate. Living with intention Living by design, not default. Now it’s time to actually sit down and define my POS properly إن شاء الله.
The day of Jummu'ah 💎
Jumu’ah isn’t just another day, it’s an opportunity to pause, realign and return to Allah سبحانه وتعالى. For the brothers, Salat al-Jumu’ah is fard and should be prioritised accordingly. For the sisters, even though it’s not obligatory to attend the masjid, don’t miss out on the immense reward of this day. From the Sunnah is ghusl, perfume(men), using miswak, being attentive in khutbah, increasing in salawat upon the Prophet ﷺ, reciting Surah al Kahf and it is also recommended to give sadaqah. Be intentional with your dua and take advantage of sa'at al istijabah(final hour of asr before magrib). Schedule it into your day, even if it’s just 10–15 minutes before magrib. When making dua, approach it properly: 1. Come in a presentable state before Allah, in wudhu. If entering the masjid, pray 2 rakah. 2. Begin with yaqeen. Call upon Allah with certainty that He hears you and will respond. 3. Praise Allah and call upon Him by His names and attributes in line with what you are asking.(Ar-Razzāq, Ar-Raheem, Al-Fattah, Al-Wahhab, Al-Muhaymin etc 4. Humble yourself and seek forgiveness before asking for your needs. 5. Send salawat upon Rasulallah ﷺ. 6. Ask for what you wish with yaqeen. Do not be shy, you are asking the King of Kings. SubhanAllah, the entire dominion belongs to Him. Then close with salawat and praise of Allah. This is structure is what is often referred to as the dua “sandwich”. And remember, from the means of acceptance is striving to keep our earnings, food and actions halal, and to have yaqeen and avoid being hasty. إن شاء الله the following reminder will bring ease to those who become hasty or disheartened. The Prophet, ﷺ, said, “There is no Muslim who calls upon Allah, within which is no sin or cutting family ties, but that Allah will give him one of three answers: He will quickly fulfill his supplication, He will store it for him in the Hereafter, or He will divert an evil from him similar to it.” They said, “In that case, we will ask for more.” The Prophet ﷺsaid, “Allah has even more.”

Jazakallah kheira Umm zaynab for the reminder. May Allah SWT reward you
Dunya or Akhirah… or Neither?
It was reported from Umar ibn al-Khattab: “إني لأكره أن أرى أحدكم سبهللاً، لا في عمل دنيا ولا في عمل آخرة.” I truly hate a person who is idle, doing no work for this world nor for the Hereafter.” It really made me sit and think. How much time do we let pass doing nothing of real value? Not building our dunya… and not investing in our akhirah. Just drifting. This quote is heavy because it removes excuses. You are either working towards something… or you are being idle/empty. Even rest has a purpose. But mindless time? That’s what costs us. It made me reflect on how intentional I actually am with my time. Am I using it in a way that benefits me in this life or the next? A believer should not be empty. We should be people of action. People of purpose. People who are always trying — even if it’s small. Because time is passing anyway. The question is: what are we filling it with?
Today’s reminder from the call:
A big lesson I took today was understanding the difference between a system needing refinement and a standard needing to be raised. The answer is in input, output, and feedback. One thing that stood out to me is that feedback should be immediate. Once I finish a task, I should reflect straight away in my DMA journal instead of waiting until the end of the day. Ask: What went well? What went wrong? What needs to change? Did I actually execute properly? Feedback is what helps refine the system. You iterate, improve, and make adjustments based on what the task reveals. But another powerful point from the call was this: if things are not going well in work, business, or life, do not only look at systems and productivity. Check your ibadah first. How is your salah? How is your Qur’an? How is your relationship with Allah? Because sometimes the real issue is not poor planning. Sometimes the deeper issue is weakness in our connection with Allah. Allah SWT says: وَمَن يَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ يَجْعَل لَّهُۥ مَخْرَجًا ۝ وَيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَحْتَسِبُ “And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out. And He will provide for him from where he does not expect.” (Surah At-Talaq 65:2–3) And He also says: وَٱسْتَعِينُوا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِ “Seek help through patience and prayer.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:45) So sometimes the answer is not just to refine the system. Sometimes it is to raise the standard. And sometimes before all of that, it is to fix what is between you and Allah.
