Hi Deb! I have a question I’d love for you to ask Dr. Boz for me.
About 6-7 weeks ago I was doing a 3-day sardine fast every week, and I did that for three weeks in a row. During that time my Dr. Boz Ratio got down to 7, and I lost about 3–4 pounds.
Then life got crazy with my son’s wedding. I stopped the sardine fasts, stopped fasting altogether, and started eating later in the day instead of stopping around 3:00. It really made me realize that I need to keep some kind of fasting schedule as part of my normal life.
Here’s what I’m wondering. If I do a 3-day sardine fast each week, how does that compare with doing a 3-day water fast? Am I still getting the same benefits from growth hormone, norepinephrine and autophagy, or does eating the sardines significantly change those benefits?
The sardine fast seems to work very well for me, and it’s something I can realistically stick with. I’d just like to understand what benefits I might be missing by choosing a sardine fast instead of a true water fast.
