- 1,000+ coaching sessions / 1,000+ workouts
Simply putting in quality volume and having a ton of reps will make you better. Regardless of the drills, you will improve in some capacity. But this is just the bare minimum.
2. Deliberate Practice
Identify your rate limiters and areas you need to improve and attacking those daily. As a coach, it could be talking less and being more fluid from drill to drill. As a player, it could be being strong through gaps and protecting the ball when defenders reach.
3. Studying Film
As a coach, mastering all of the small details of the game and creating a curriculum around this. Being able to teach your players the game in the most detailed way. As a player, understanding patterns and how players move/defend will help you form an observational learning perspective.
4. Surround yourself with greatness
As a coach, putting yourself in rooms with high level basketball coaches and trainers. Working with nba/high major coaches and players will show you how to operate in those settings. As a player, become the worst player in the game and challenge yourself daily to improve and become as good as them.
5. Consistency…
This is the most important. Repeating the above 4 day in and day out. Regardless of how you feel, showing up daily.
How have you been leveling up as a coach or player recently?
