Brain waves aren't one frequency. They're more like the harmonious parts of a symphony. Healthy brain wave activity is flexible and coherent. It shifts frequencies smoothly so you can recover when life changes course.
The trouble is, when life pushes us incessantly, we can become chronically anxious. While a healthy brain adapts, an overwhelmed brain has no inherent methods of recovery, and so stress compounds. That creates neural interference patterns, interrupting the nervous system and rest. That means our concentration is poor, we're snappy, and we're awake in the middle of the night.
But when we surround ourselves with music, our brain waves tend to synchronize with the frequencies and rhythms. When those frequencies are specifically tuned to our natural states for healing, recovering, and concentrating, our brains can quickly bridge the gap that was created by the stress. Steady rhythms create stability the brain and nervous system can adhere to. This is called entrainment and the results are measurable on an EEG. And when it's combined with Positive Intelligence-based hypnotic suggestion, it does cognitive restructuring that literally makes the system feel safer.
In simple terms, when we’re anxious, our brain’s rhythms become fast and fragmented. Music provides a steady external rhythm that our brain naturally syncs with. Once it slows, it's more open to healing and positive change.
