Barclay's Mortgage GDPR SAR 'Last Chance' - Do I Have the Cahunas? 🫣
You may be following this but if not, I've been keen to progress pete's amazing GDPR processes with the mortgage. I had a bridging loan (Ouch!!!!) while i was finishing of a barn conversion and so reqested all data they had pertaining to the mortgage. So that would have included the deed of assignment from the bridging company as well as the signed original MORTGAGE deed (which they would need to stand by the legitimacy of the mortgage). Well after months of SARs I got a letter back pretty much admitting that they dont have the deeds. They actually wrote "we've sent you all the documents hold relating to your mortgage accounts..." This was from customer services associate so I wonder if she knew the importance of this? Anyway with pete and mr Dimebar help (thanks so much guys!) I have my last 'request' (demand for remedy) before I move to litigate. An affidavit summarising the events and also a notice highlighting their breach of GDPR. Big question now is do i have the cahunas to take Barclays to court with an N1 (chancery)? These are the big boys... and they don't play fair... I'm going to have to believe that the judge in chancery court is not nobbled. Take a look and please comment. I've given them 7 days....
