How to strengthen perfume performance

Stupid question but I want to ask, I have used popular perfumes but none of them stands out.

Could it be I apply very less spray or less frequently.

Can anyone share a video how to strengthen perfume performance? Like the best way to apply on our body?

I have heard spraying on Vaseline makes it more long lasting but not sure.
