Spent some time with my first sample from Happyland Studio, Green Irish Tobacco, and what struck me immediately was the opening. The way the violet and iris mix with the lemon verbena gives a definite mint effect, not listed, but unmistakable, and it elevates the brightness beautifully. The notes are listed as: Lemon verbena, iris, tobacco, violet leaves, vanilla, tonka bean, ambergris.
As it develops, the tobacco and vanilla don’t really blend into that freshness so much as stand alongside it. It's like being introduced to two different gentlemen at the same time, one crisp and formally presented, the other warmer and slightly rugged. They don’t merge for most of the wear, but they coexist, and that contrast is what keeps it interesting for me. Toward the end of the wear, the notes do merge and the tobacco-vanilla accord pushes ahead of the opening elements. So for those who appreciate that herbal sweetness, it will comfort you in the end.
Performance is solid without being loud. It projects with intention for the first couple of hours, then settles into a controlled, skin-adjacent warmth that feels appropriate rather than attention-seeking. Longevity is respectable for the price point, which honestly makes the composition even more impressive. This feels like an easy reach for transitional seasons or evenings when you want something fresh but grounded, polished without being dressed up.
