finally…

so a while back i made a post asking for recommendations from the house of orto parisi, a super niche and artsy house by the creator of nasomatto.

i DID find samples available on twisted lily, but im a greedy brokie who doesn’t want to risk spending money on things he won’t like (just in case, because im well aware of how very polarizing orto parisi is.)

BUUUUT… eureka.

after weeks of searching store after store, walking through casinos and buildings, and a homeless man who called me “very attractive 💀😭), i finally found a tiny shop in the corner of the venetian that offers testers of orto parisi. i had to dig a bit, because it turns out they don’t like to keep them in the open, and keep them hidden away in the back… but lest being said, i finally was able to try them out. so here’s a brief, no BS guide on the ones ive tried so far.

1- risvellium. not a fan of it. cool bottle design, but the smell is way too sharp, and reminds me a bit of chlorine flavored lemonade. not for me.

2- brutus. WOAHHH i like this one! it’s a great oud scent. was expecting it to be super animalic and skanky, but it’s surprisingly smooth for an oud. definitely like this one, but for me personally it might be redundant to own.

3- boccanera. sharp. super super sharp in the opening. almost like a sharpie like smell. but, after half an hour or so.. it dries down to a very intense, spicy, and slightly gourmand scent. not for people who dislike spicy scents, but this one is growing on me.

4- seminalis. i like this one. like a lot. it’s not mass appealing, but definitely sweet and likable smelling, it’s got a lactonic, creamy vanilla with a slightly fruity and herbal edge to it. i’m well aware of the meaning behind this scent, and very well aware that the creator is a lil… freaky (cough cough penis nasomatto cap), BUT, i actually like this.

5- megamare. was so nervous to try this one. and honestly? i was a bit underwhelmed. it’s not bad by any means, but just smells like salty musk to me. i get a slightly metallic vibe. not bad, but not at all what i was picturing. would i wear this? possibly, but i dont really know.

6- terroni. i was most excited to try this one out. and boy did it not disappoint. this baby is pure smoke in a bottle. almost savory smelling. like a charcoal from a barbecue. i stopped trusting fragrantica after this, because the voted notes do NOT translate to my nose. on paper it looks mass appealing, but this is ultra smoky, heavy, fiery stuff to wear. and honestly? i love it. the only con is that well… i don’t really know anywhere i could wear this. like at all lol. i might experiment layering it with a vanilla to make it a little less offensive.

overall, this is a fantastic brand. super glad i got my nose on it. gorgeous bottle designs and presentation, even better scents. ultra artistic, super statement making. is it for everyone? no. but i get the hype now.
