FFern… am I getting scammed???
So for those that got a chance to ready my Scent Trigger post few days back, I brought up this fragrance subscription called FFern.
Ffern is a Somerset-UK based artisan fragrance brand that releases four limited-edition natural perfumes a year, blending high-quality plant-based ingredients with seasonal inspiration and a “ledger” subscription model.
FFern makes only four perfumes a year, each tied to the seasons—Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter. They don’t sit on store shelves waiting to be discovered; instead, they’re released like limited-edition art pieces. Or so this is how the fragrances are presented.
I’ve currently on their “ledger” which makes me one of the few that receives FFern’s seasonal releases for a while now, and I’ve got to be honest—while I love the concept and the craftsmanship, the latest drops have felt a little concerning and, to be real, kind of anticlimactic. The build-up is always strong, but the payoff hasn’t been hitting with the same energy as before.
I’ve noticed is that all three releases I’ve received this year smell almost identical—like variations on the same theme. They were all created by the same artist, which I get, but it makes me wonder if the brand is falling into a predictable pattern instead of giving us the distinct seasonal stories they promise. Has anyone else felt that repetition creeping in?
I’m curious. Does anyone else here have the subscription? And if so, have you noticed the same shift, or is it just me overthinking it?
