Celebrating Scents VS Overly Criticizing Fragrances
The over-analytical fragrance collector often find themselves less satisfied with their collection over time. They begin chasing "complexity" for the sake of it, often ending up with challenging, unwearable scents while losing the ability to appreciate a simple, well-blended "cheapie" that smells objectively good.
Learning the technical side can ruin the simple joy of a fragrance. Many collectors report that they now "dissect" scents, noticing cheap synthetic bases or simple structures that they previously found beautiful.
What are your thoughts on this guys? Are we overthinking this hobby?
