Bad bugs, bad bugs, what you gonna do when Ayurveda comes for you
This Sunday's class will be extra important to attend. Between the extreme heat spreading across the northern hemisphere and the current health crisis of the cyclospora parasite, I decided to add a bonus conversation to this month's cooking class. Initially, the focus was going to be all about hydration and it still will be. In addition to the importance of hydration, I'll be sharing tips on how to improve your digestion and immunity against the risk of pathogen exposures. Ayurveda calls pathogens (viruses, parasites, bacteria, etc) as Krimis or bad bugs. Of course, this conversation is not a replacement to seeing a doctor or following modern medical interventions. It's meant to help support your health, through knowledge, prevent and recovery. Make sure to become a premium member (if you aren't already) to join the conversation.

Hydration takes more than drinking water
Special Summer Recipe – Ayurvedic Hydration Drink Summer is giving us long, hot days that dehydrate us faster than other times of year through extra sweating, breathing and activities. Intuitively you’re probably drinking more water, but are you actually absorbing that water? Hydrating isn’t just drinking water; it’s about replacing your body with lost fluids and electrolytes, such as sodium and potassium. Hydration helps you regulate body temperature, energize muscles, boost cognitive function, and keeps your organs working efficiently. This ayurvedic hydration drink recipe helps replace the electrolytes and supports absorption of the water. Enjoy a glass before going out in the heat or recovering from activities. - Lime helps draw in water and electrolytes by increasing digestive strength (agni).  - Cumin helps increase agni and absorption.   - Soma Salt helps replace electrolytes and draw in water.   - Mint clears your channels, making space for the water to be absorbed.  - Sugar helps absorb the electrolytes and provides energy.   - Nutmeg supports agni and the kidneys.   Enjoy a fresh batch daily! Mark your calendar for this month's live classes on July 19th, where we'll be focusing on Poses, Foods and more Drinks to beat the heat! Not a professional member yet? Shaky ?
Hi Carol and Kathleen, The shakes sound delicious. Rounding up my ingredients. Assuming you prefer the Chandi Vegan Protein Powder? Thanks, Kathy Krepps
Paneer Yay
Hi folks. As a charter member of the better late than never club I have successfully made beautiful paneer! I watched Chef Carol making paneer and realized the major factors that I had been missing in my first attempts. 1. fresh whole milk I think I used possibly old milk on first attempts. The paneer was dry and sour. 2. Patience; oh my just calmly watching the milk as it heated over medium to low heat and stirring it so it did not stick. 3. As soon as the boil came I added the fresh lime juice. I used 2 organic limes. Voilà a beautiful sweet paneer. So delicious and nutritious. Thank you chef Carol.
