We’re just over one week into our STEPtember challenge! On Monday, we discussed some of the brain benefits of walking/getting your steps in, but there’s another reason we’re hitting the pavement this month as well—and that’s your heart health! ❤️
Hopefully, you are participating in our walking challenges, as they’re strategically planned to help you get your steps in and improve your cardiovascular health.
On Monday, you learned that walking is beneficial for brain health. One reason why is that having good cardiovascular health is believed to lead to better brain health. According to the American Brain Foundation, “Heart health is directly related to brain health. Your brain depends on a healthy supply of blood, which your heart pumps through your circulatory system. Following sound medical advice for maintaining good circulatory health will help to reduce your risk of stroke and dementia.”
The cool thing is that the opposite is also believed to be true. Research indicates that a positive mindset can also lead to better heart health. It’s almost like the two go hand in hand…go figure…😉
As you’re getting your steps in this month, remember—you’re improving both your cardiovascular health and your mindset/brain health—and so much more! 👟
