Happy Sunday!
Good morning, and happy Sunday, friends! I hope you have plans to rest and recover today. After all, we’ve had a big month of building our glutes. Our glutes and lower bodies contain the largest muscles in the body, so after working them extra hard this month, you need a good recovery day! 🧘‍♀️
Since it’s a rest & recovery day, let’s look at how hydration/water specifically aids in your overall recovery:
💦 When your body is dehydrated, it can’t transport nutrients to your muscles, therefore hindering muscle recovery.
💦 Water plays an important role in protein synthesis. When you work out, you create tiny tears in your muscles. Your body repairs these tears through protein synthesis. Water is an important component of this process, as it transports nutrients to your muscles and aids in the breakdown (and absorption) of protein.
In short, water/proper hydration is important for all aspects of muscle growth, including recovery. And remember, your muscles can’t grow if they’re not recovering. 💯
