Yesterday, I released a Leadership Latte on persistence—how I faced rejection multiple times before finally being admitted to the U.S. Air Force Academy. Little did I know that just hours later, my nephew, JoJo, who currently serves on active duty in the U.S. Navy, would receive a rejection letter from the U.S. Naval Academy.
JoJo isn’t a member of this digital community, but when I learned what happened, I sent him the recording. Later, as we spoke, I realized something incredible: a story from 40 years ago—my story—became the exact encouragement he needed in that moment. I asked him if he still wanted to pursue his goal. Without hesitation, he said yes.
Here’s what this reminded me of:
🔹We often don’t realize the power of our own story—even the tough parts—until it becomes the light for someone else’s path.
🔹 What feels random to us may actually be by design. An unseen hand may be guiding our steps, positioning us to impact others in ways we never expected.
So today, I challenge you to reflect:
👉 What past struggle have you overcome that could inspire someone else?
👉 How has a “random” moment in your life turned out to be part of a greater plan?
Drop your thoughts in the comments—I’d love to hear your story. 🚀
