Recently conducted a free, two-day Boots to Business (B2B) workshop
• Location: Fort Stewart, Georgia TAP Office • Dates: 23-24 June 2026 • Participants: 17 (engaged group leveraging military leadership, discipline, and problem-solving skills) • Host: Georgia VBOC at the Georgia VECTR Center — Scott Ross, Instructor • Format: Free 2-day in-person (09:00 AM - 4:00 PM daily, with lunch 12:30-1:30 PM) through SBA / DoD TAP Academy • Funding (no cost): Supported in part by a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration What Participants Gained • Practical business fundamentals (idea evaluation, basic business plans, markets, financing, operations). • Real-world insights on translating military experience into entrepreneurship success. • Resources & next steps: SBA tools, GA VBOC/VECTR Center mentoring, Mississippi State University - Revenue Readiness Program, funding pathways, and veteran networks. • Overcoming veteran-specific challenges (e.g., access to capital, military-to-civilian skill translation). • All participants will receive an SBA certificate of completion and follow-up support offers from GA VBOC.
