Your network = your net worth
This gets said a lot, but in property it’s genuinely one of the biggest advantages you can build. Most of the best opportunities don’t even make it to the open market, they move through conversations, relationships, and people who are already trusted. If you’re connected, you hear about deals earlier. If you’re not, you’re competing with everyone else.
A strong network isn’t just about finding deals either. It’s where funding comes from, where you learn faster, and where partnerships are formed. You might meet someone who has access to great deals but no time, or someone with capital who’s looking for the right person to work with. When you’re around the right people consistently, those opportunities start to appear naturally.
It also shortens your learning curve massively. Instead of figuring everything out the hard way, you’re able to learn from people who are already doing what you want to do. One good conversation can save you from costly mistakes or open your eyes to a better strategy.
Building a network doesn’t mean collecting contacts, it means building real relationships. Showing up, adding value, following through on what you say, and actually taking action. Over time, people remember who’s consistent and who they can rely on.
In the long run, your results in property are rarely just about what you know , they’re about who you know, who knows you, and the reputation you build along the way.
