Week One let’s go ! 🎉🎉🎉
Follow the link below which will take you to Google Maps, switch to Street View… and have a wander. You’ll find yourself near the beautiful coastline around Whitsand Bay in South Cornwall with dramatic cliffs, winding roads, sea stretching out forever. On a clear day the light is just magic. ✨ ✏️ What to look for - The curve of the coastline - Clifftop grasses moving in the wind - Texture in the rock faces - Tiny details like fences, signs, pathways - The horizon line where sea meets sky Remember you don’t have to stay in the exact spot you’ve landed in go and have a stroll ❤️ You could: - Do a loose 5 minute line sketch - Focus just on the shapes of the cliffs - Study the tones of sea and sky - Zoom right in and draw a single detail - You could write a poem about how it makes you feel. - Write a small piece of music if that’s your jam. And remember… It doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be yours. Starting local to me feels grounding. Before we hop across oceans, I want to honour my own shoreline first. I am so excited for you to go exploring ! The pics below are my interpretations of this place and I’ve done a few so you can see the variety. Passports ready? See you in Street View 🌍✏️ https://maps.app.goo.gl/RHBmhxcchFKywsn39?g_st=ic

The Post Box Is Open !
I have been quietly working on something very close to my heart. A small monthly print club where original artwork travels through the post and arrives gently at your door. Each envelope will hold a signed print and a few thoughtful extras, wrapped with care from my studio. It is my way of sharing affordable art and a little moment of calm each month. If it feels like something you would like to be part of, you can join the founding members list below. Founding members will receive this at a reduced cost of £12.99 per month as a thank you for supporting me early on. I will be adding a payment system here on Skool and will let you know when it’s up and running. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScUnjmGX1a8Llyh5XddOLZlxby9zX8t0z1seZjbCsEIh2umBg/viewform?usp=header Post will go out on the first of every month ;-) Thank you for supporting this little dream of mine. It truly means more than you know. Kate

Peru 🇵🇪
I really got into Peru this week! What started as one sketch turned into two sketches and even a poem. 🙈 The colours completely drew me in rich reds, turquoise blues and warm earthy tones everywhere I looked. 🙌🏻 That’s what I love about Around the World in 80 Sketches. Sometimes a place doesn’t just inspire a picture, it sparks a whole page of creativity. ❤️ Colours of Peru ❤️💜💙💛💚 High in the mountains, where colours run deep, The earth tells stories it has chosen to keep. Bands of turquoise, ochre, crimson and gold, Layers of culture, history and folklore untold. Somewhere beyond the clouds, I like to think Paddington began his journey with a hopeful wink. A small bear from Peru, with a suitcase in hand, Carrying kindness from this remarkable land. And as I sit and sketch beneath the vast blue sky, I find that colour speaks when words pass by.

✨ Finishing a Mural, Chasing the Light ✨
Today I finally finished this wall mural and I have to say, seeing it up on the wall feels pretty good 👍 After that I headed out into the sunshine and the light was absolutely incredible. The kind of light that makes you stop whatever you’re doing and really look. So, naturally, I spent the afternoon sneaking around the garden with my camera, crouching behind plants and pointing my phone at leaves and flowers from every possible angle.😂😂😂 At this point I’m fairly sure the neighbours think I’ve completely lost the plot. 🙈 But honestly, moments like that are one of the reasons I love being creative. One minute you’re covered in paint finishing a mural, the next you’re fascinated by the way sunlight shines through a leaf. Sometimes creativity isn’t about making something. Sometimes it’s simply about noticing. 💜 I hope you’ve found your smidgen moment of wonder in your day too. ☀️🌿
