Hello May 🌿
it just me… or did April absolutely zoom by at 100mph 🤦🏻‍♀️I feel like I’ve been constantly on the go, with a few wobbly, unwell days sprinkled in there too 🙈 and somehow… my birthday came and went in a blink. But even in all of that, there have been little pockets of calm. Those quiet, gentle moments that remind me to pause… and honestly, so many of those moments come from being here with you. You really do inspire me every single day 🙌🏻 ❤️ May is shaping up to be a busy one ! I’ve got plans to visit friends, a family reunion up country, and of course our beautiful garden is really starting to come into its own now 🌱 (which brings me so much joy). And today is extra special… it’s @Treena Gooding birthday 💛She is such a dear friend to me a beautiful creative soul who gives so much to others, often without taking enough time for herself. So today, we’re sending you all the love Treena, and I hope you find a little smidgen of calm tucked into your day somewhere ✨ 🥳🥰 For those of us here in England, it’s a bank holiday and living in a touristy spot means we’ll be doing the opposite of the crowds… staying home, pottering in the garden, and soaking up the quiet.🌺 And before I go, I just want to say thank you.Truly. For your continued support, your kindness, your creativity… this little corner of the internet feels so special because of you. 🙌🏻😍 Here’s to a gentle, steady May 🤍

Walking Together ❤️
Walking together, in quiet ways, Through borrowed streets and far-off days, Listening closely to all we find,The world unfolding in the mind. Learning gently, step by step,In every pause, in every breath, Even apart, there’s something true,A thread that pulls me close to you. Curious hearts that wander free,Still find their way in you and me. 💜

✨ When your mind feels a little tangled… ✨
Is it just me, or do our thoughts sometimes wrap themselves a little too tightly around us? You know those moments…when everything feels a bit too much, when you can’t quite see a way through, when your mind keeps circling the same worries. 🧐 It can feel like you’re stuck there. But I’ve been thinking… What if we’re not as trapped as it feels? What if things are just a little foggy right now? Because sometimes the path isn’t gone it’s just harder to see when our thoughts are loud. And maybe the next step doesn’t have to be big or brave or life-changing… Maybe it’s just this… loosening one small thread. A gentler thought. A softer approach. A tiny step forward, even if you’re not completely sure where it leads. You don’t have to have it all figured out.You don’t need the whole picture. Just a smidgen of movement is enough. 🥰 I’d love to know…what helps you when your mind feels a little tangled? 🤍

@Claire Hall yes 🙌🏻 my current sketchbook is a brochure torn in half and I folded all the pages. But having stuff available to just jump on when the mood takes you removes the barrier of having to get stuff out. I completely feel you, finances have been really tough this winter and that just adds to the overthinking 🤦🏻‍♀️🫠 it’s trying to step out of your head for long enough to see the wood for the trees 🥰

🌍 Around the World… but make it yours 🇬🇱
I finished last week’s Around the World in 80 Sketches… and honestly, I went on quite the little journey with this one creatively speaking. When I first had a wander around on Google Maps, I completely fell for those little buildings with the ice drifting past… there was just something about the stillness of it all. ❄️ At the same time, I’ve been re-reading an Alice in Wonderland book illustrated by ANDREA D’AQUINO and I am so inspired by her in this version. The mix of watercolour, ink and collage is just… chefs kiss. 😙 👌🏻 So naturally, I thought I’d try a bit of that myself. But then… I picked up some new fineliners I’d been wanting to play with, started a continuous line drawing just to map things out… and before I knew it, the watercolours were out, the page was flowing and the collage idea quietly disappeared somewhere along the way. And you know what… I actually love it just as it is. 🥰❤️ That’s the thing I want you to take from this if you’ve been sitting on the fence about joining in… This isn’t about pressure, precision or performance. It’s about letting your mind wander a little… without questioning where it goes or whether it’s “right”. So if you fancy it… come travel with us. No rules, no expectations… just a smidgen of curiosity 🤍

🇨🇦 Around the World in 80 Sketches : Canada Calling 🍁
This week we’re heading to Canada… and oh it’s a good one 🙌🏻A quiet road, soft trees, that feeling of space stretching out beside you… the kind of place that invites you to slow right down and notice. 👉https://maps.app.goo.gl/A4ecYzZjNCzec7859 Before we wander too far… I’ll also be sharing my Greenland piece soon ❄️ It’s not quite finished yet, still sitting in that in-between stage… but I quite like that part of the process. The not-quite-there-yet. The becoming. Now… let’s go exploring 🌍✨ 🌿 If you’re new here You can travel with us no passport required. 🙌🏻 Each week we visit a new place using Street View and respond in whatever way feels right to you: * a quick doodle * a painting * a collage * a poem * or simply a few words about how it makes you feel There’s no right way to do this. Just a smidgen of curiosity and a moment for yourself. ❤️ I’d love to see what you notice in this one… maybe it’s the way the road leads you forward, or how the trees hold the space, or something small that only you spot 💛

@Dusty Whealon Trauma has a lot to answer for and I feel sad you had to go through that. But I do understand the using it positively and damn it teaches resilience 🙈 I am glad that you found the beauty in life ❤️ Everything I do creatively helps me heal but I often paint about me on a subconscious level. I didn’t realise untill I stepped back from my easel and was literally like wtf ! I do a lot of writing and over the last few years I realised I felt joy in it now whereas before I was told I was crap at it and I was dyslexic. My mum used to make me write lines as a child for being naughty even if I hadn’t 🤦🏻‍♀️ but other people took that joy away from me. Now I am can write as much as I want because I found peace in myself 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

@Dusty Whealon 🥺 That filled my heart 💖 thank you lovely 🥰 I feel for your friend and hearts like that change the world without them even being aware. I never thought it would be me to break the chain of generational trauma but i couldn’t let my children go through the same and actually when my marriage ended the kids were still fairly young but me and their Dad split completely amicably and were good friends. I couldn’t let my children go through what my parents put me through when they split. ❤️
