Never do anything half hearted
Guys, many of you are just starting your tutoring business. I know lots of you are already full time teachers and have responsibilities. However, you can't assume you will be successful in the tutoring space by being half hearted. All businesses need your full/undivided attention for it to be a success. When I started my company 3 years ago, I built it with 1 purpose. GET ME OUT OF THE UK ASAP. It worked alhamdullahi. Why ? Because it had to work. I tried everything to get my business to replace my salary income and with the permission of ALLAH, it did work. Don't be afraid, Don't be shy and go above and beyond your clients. You will find one day, if you stick to it and focus, you will achieve your goals. What's the 1 thing your going to do this weekend to get your tutoring business a step closer to success ?? Leave a comment below ! lets discuss now

@Muna Muhidin secretary are good, very good but they require lots of training and they need to get paid too. Definitely a goal to aspire too

Registering a tutoring business name. Advice needed.
Do I have to register my name as a sole trader? Do I register with HMRC even before I even started? How do you protect your tuition name?

You can protect your tutoring name using trade-marking but trust me you don’t need to worry about that. I have my own business registered in the uk and if someone tried to steal, it would take a day to think of a new name and rebrand. Plus it cost to protect. Regarding registering your company, I would advise speaking with an accounting but I have mine registered as a LTD. Do you have to register ? Depends on a lot but definitely speak to accountant
Risky
I got a new client who asked me to teach their year 11 child, 2 hours every week. I said okay, I took him through the enrolment process and they loved it (including a 30 minute free consultation). I sent him an invoice for the whole month. He said he can't pay it all upfront. He will pay it on Monday on a weekly bases. Monday comes, the student is ready but the father has not paid. You messaged and called him but he does not pick up. It is possible the father forgot and will pay on Tuesday. What would you do and why? Vote and leave a comment !!!

@Mohammed Odowa yes, the next morning he paid. I believe I made the right decision by still teaching. It shows it’s not just about the money. People don’t like to work with people who just talk about money. It’s unpleasant for them. It’s only when they aren’t paying at all that becomes a issue

This poll was literally a tie guys. I broke it by saying just risk it. It’s possible they just forgot and it’s shows you’re not only money motivated. Other factors do come into it. Ie, how much notice did they have of when the class is starting In my class, the actual class was only 2 days after initial conversation so forgetting was very likely
