Best learning resource for Fun1
Hey guys what's the best learning resource for the Fun1? I've been studying the Fun1 practice test on this site https://fun1-test.netlify.app and I'm testing well but I don't want to get over confident from one resource. Also when do we take the NISP's? After the Fun 1 correct? Will it be on the same day mid May or later?

@Adam Steinmann You can retake the Wayground quizzes from the activities page, which you can get to by clicking "view profile" then clicking "activities" in the top of the profile page, next to "home"

Like Daryl said, the junior STE/NISP training week is separate from the FUN1 exam days in mid-May and there are 2 different weeks that you can be scheduled for, one week beginning June 1 and another July 20. There are some good practice and study resources for studying for the FUN1 in the classroom tab. For a thorough revisit of the material, I recommend the study guide and practice quizzes at https://radiationprotectiontech.com/fun-1/. Basically, my study method is just going through those quizzes, the comprehensive quiz on wayground, and the two practice tests here in the classroom tab, as well as reading through the study guide, and if I notice any areas that I'm fuzzy on, I revisit those learning materials, and then I go through it all again.

Health Insurance
Anyone have some experience on how to handle Health Insurance as an RPT with a spouse. Edit: after doing more research it looks like westinghouse offers insurance that covers you during outtakes, then when your contract ends thats a QLE which will let you apply to the Healthcare Market place. Then you bounce back to westinghouse Healthcare for your next contact. Rinse, repeat.

Question on RP Trainees Requesting Work
Hello All, I'm in the process of training to become a junior RP tech with Westinghouse and would appreciate advice regarding reaching out and requesting work for outages in the fall, now that the fall 2026 outage schedule is available. Currently, I've been scheduled to take the FUN1 exam mid-May. My question is, when/how do I make the request to be scheduled for outages, and what should I expect? For instance, even though I'm not yet a jr RP tech, should I still proceed to request jr RP tech roles for the fall? Should I not expect to work RP this fall, given the timing, and simply request Decon roles for the time being, and then plan to request work in RP next spring? Or, should I hold off on requesting work at all until I have become task qualified (not sure about this last option, seems like a good way to miss work)? Additionally, when sending work requests to the recruiters, should I send one bulk email with all of my preferred outages and then CC all recruiters, or should I send a separate email for each outage preferences and only CC the recruiters assigned to that outage, per the outage list? @Daryl Wright Thank you for your thoughts, Daryl, this has been very helpful to me and I imagine to others who will come across this post. Yeah, after looking at my two outage preferences, I realized that Tricia's duo was handling both and only CC'd them. I emailed Sharon on Monday and followed up yesterday regarding the NISP e-courses but haven't heard back or gained access on Reach 360, so I suppose I will plan to wait until after the FUN1 exam to gain access and plan to take the later training week in July. I had seen that Adam Steinmann received e-course access and tentatively scheduled for the June 1 training week, and there's your case as well, so here's hoping. I imagine they're utterly swamped. Thanks again for your advice.

@Daryl Wright Coincidentally, I just got access to the task qualifications learning path this morning, so they must have just seen my emails (they’re probably swamped). I’m gonna start hitting it hard now, so hopefully I can get it down by the June 1 training week, but we’ll see. Thanks again, Daryl
