Embracing Something New
I’m not exactly sure where my post will go if I type in this box, but I’ll try it and see… I wanted to expound a bit on #1 on the “get-to-know-you” page. I think it will be good for me to share this, and maybe it will be helpful for others who have walked a similar path 😊 I’m here because I caught part of Dr. Heath’s series on grief. It was exactly what I needed to hear, when I needed to hear it—thank you, Dr. Heath. Side note: My phone corrects “Heath” to “health”—which, honestly, isn’t wrong 😂 Every April, I spend some extra time reflecting on my little girl, Naomi Joy, who I miscarried a few years ago. She was due on April 21st. This was my fifth (and final) miscarriage. In the years since her passing, I created a tradition of embracing something new each April, in honor of her and the other babies I loved, but had to let go. I choose new activities that will help me and my family live our lives to the fullest. Last April, we started our state’s State Park Challenge. This year, I’m joining this class 🎉 I look forward to learning and challenging myself alongside each of you. And I will share the tools I learn with others. It will take me some time, but I hope to steadily make it through all the posts and levels. Thanks for letting me join ❤️

Thoughts of Futures Past
🧠 Mindset MasterClass Mini-Lesson: Past Futures You can’t change the past—but you can change your thinking about it. ✅ Actionable Tip: When past memories resurface, ask: “What thought about this will build my future?” Because how you think about your past shapes what comes next. Your future isn’t built by your past. It’s built by your perspective on it. ☝️Help someone better shape their future. Forward this to a friend or family member struggling with their past. Invite them to join Mindset Masterclass. — Dr. Heath 👣 #ShoeLeatherPsychology #MindsetMasterclass

@Deshaun Jacobs this is so true and one I'm actively working on to create a different narrative..

Just yesterday I came head to head with the thought that I can rewrite this next season ... I've never liked fall and the cold dreary months that follow .. I am using this month to create new habits and thought patterns about the upcoming season..
Are You In Control?
If you’re not in charge of your mouth, you’re not in charge of your mind! We should often remind ourselves there is no need to speak every thought we think. Words are like feathers 🪶 They are difficult to gather back up once set loose. Take care not to burden relationships by turning rancid thoughts into words.

I tell my kids (and myself) the words that come out of your mouth truly do reflect what's in your heart. I'm choosing this month to be intentional about writing down the good things about my kids and tell them, as well as ask for their help when I am feeling stretched too thin and need help..

@Liliana G In my experience, strength and courage comes from naming the hard, the unmet expectations, and grieving those losses, then choosing to move forward and into the purpose of God on your life. Survival is focusing on the struggle and resentment of what is..
If you had to survive listening to one song.
If you all had to survive listening to one song, what would it be? I would like to hear everybody answers!

@Liliana G what an incredible story!! Kids teach us so much about life and living fully - special needs kids take it to another level. They are so attuned to the emotional states of those around them🥰
