I did my long run (day 8 on my schedule) today with 1 mile loops at the park, listening to Taylor Swift, β€œlife of a showgirl” this time. I use the Swift albums, in order, for my long runs.

I think that the uniqueness of recovery from marathons is important. Anything less than 2 gentle months, for me, is an injury that takes months of rehab.
Long run too fast
Last Friday I was Jeffing in memory of Jeff Galloway. I'm not a habitual run walker, except on days my legs don't feel good, in which case I walk a minute every now and then. Last Friday my legs felt great and I did the running parts way too fast. After 80 minutes of that, I decided I could do 20 minutes of tempo on a hilly bit near my house. The result? Today my legs felt like bricks. I couldn't do anything else but Jeffing. Another example of me overdoing things when I feel good🫀

My weirdest Jeffing experience was a self supported marathon during covid, running around a mile long loop in a park, listening to Wolf Totem by The Hu (Mongolian heavy metal band) on repeat doing 15 sec run/15 sec walk the whole time :)))
There is no finish line.
I’m going to the track today for an easy run, then to the gym for a weight workout. Day 7 on the 9 day workout schedule.

I’m in the second cycle. I also took the sheet with all the stuff to 3 different trainers that I see at the gyms that I go to.
