What are you doing this week to improve your fitness? I recently had to change my exercise routine due to a change in work schedule. Not sure how I feel about it yet BUT it will allow for more structured cardio which is something I have been lacking in. What activity/ exercise/ intentional movement are you doing this week?
I go for prayer walks every morning behind my backyard, I have a bunch of hiking trails so have been trying out the more difficult ones with my dog and I’m SO glad I did because I got to witness a beautiful view in a different perspective as my reward! Can’t wait to try a new one tomorrow morning! I also really enjoy Pilates and do that a lot:)
@Caleb Jones It honestly differs everyday! If I have more time, which usually on the weekends I do, I’ll shoot for a 7-11mile hike but before school/work I’ll do 3-4miles! When I do my longer hikes I’ll go up to Lake Tahoe where there are a bunch of amazing hiking trails! It’s my all time favorite way to get active, it’s so therapeutic.

Hello to this lovely community of people! I joined this group because I want to really learn how to take care of my temple. What I eat, the oils I use, how things are made, and what I should avoid or start adding to my life. For me, it’s about more than just health, it’s about mental clarity, my energy, and honoring God in the body he gave me. I know that when I take care of myself, I show up better in life, in my relationships, and in everything I do! I want to feel good, think clearly, and live intentionally. This is me choosing to honor myself, my body, and my faith all at the same time!:)
@Isaiah Jones Yess, blue raspberry was always my go to as a kidπŸ˜… Exactly yes, the American cheese slices that come in the single plastic wraps! I never liked those growing up, it looks soo fake but I’ll definitely look into this!

Music Thoughts + Reflection Questions
Music is such a large topic, this post will be a general awareness post. Music is very powerful and influences us more than we most likely realize. I have always loved music it became an emotional outlet between playing piano and finding songs that resonate with what I am feeling. There have also been times when the music I was listening to negatively impacted the way I viewed the world and myself. I found that I usually was listening to the beat of the music not caring for the words. So when I began listening to more songs with lyrics the meaning of the words slipped past me and were making it to my sub conscious. There’s so much I could share about these experiences good and, bad but I will wrap up with a stat and some interactive/ reflection questions. Stat: It takes on average 9 minutes when listening to upbeat music to change your mood. Reflection Questions: - Do you listen to music for the beat/emotion or the words? - What type of music do you listen to? Does it change whether you are working out, driving or studying? - When is the last time you looked into the words and the context of a song you were listening to? - Do you feel your thoughts and mindset shifted based on the music? - What is a song recommendation you have? **

Sun-dried Tomato. Chicken. Pasta
Found this delicious chicken pasta recipe online and had to share it! Super easy crockpot meal prep that tastes good and is solid on the macros side! I have added it to my regular lunches for work. Here’s what you need: βœ… 2-2.5 pounds chicken breast βœ… 28oz can whole, peeled San Marzano tomatoes βœ… 85g sundried tomatoes βœ… 15g (1 Tbsp) olive oil βœ… 1 Tbsp salt βœ… 1 Tbsp dried oregano βœ… 1 Tbsp garlic powder βœ… 1 Tbsp red chili flakes βœ… 1 tsp black pepper -Cook in the crock pot on high for 3 hours or low or 4 hours -Then…. Cook 1 box of protein pasta according to the box ( I use Barilla spaghetti) Make the sauce in a blender: βœ… 3 cups low fat cottage cheese βœ… 4oz of low fat cream cheese βœ… 120g of grated Parmesan cheese βœ… 1.5 cups low fat milk βœ… salt and pepper as you desire -Mix the pasta and the sauce into the crockpot and cover for 20 minutes -Serve up or divide it up into meal prep containers (I can usually get about 8 meals out of it!) Have you ever tried something similar?
