I’m looking for a bit of help with YouTube & Skool
I’m hoping for some advice around YouTube → Skool. I run a Skool community for UK first-time buyers in England, and I know the transformation happens once people are inside the community. The problem I’m having is using my YouTube to actually get the right people into Skool. My YouTube content is practical and aimed at people who want to buy but aren’t quite ready yet. So deposit, credit, and understanding the buying process — but I’m struggling to turn viewers into community members. There are so many people in the UK who want to buy a home. They don’t need convincing, they just need guidance. I know I can help once they find their way in, but I’m clearly missing something in how I’m using YouTube. If you’ve grown a community using YouTube, I’d really value your perspective: What would you focus on first? How would you position YouTube to feed a Skool community? Is there anything obvious I might be overlooking? Any honest advice would really help — I’m here to learn and improve.

Hey Manda, I'd also suggest a pinned comment on each of your videos to guide them to your Skool page. I've just started pinning comments myself and I can see the people are reading it.
Resuming YT after a 4 month break
I started YT in March 2025 with Alexa's course.. things ticked along and the channel grew. There came a point in my life I had to stop making videos for 4 months. I stressed and stressed about that decision. I knew i would be shooting myself in the foot since the channel was growing, but it had to be done. I dragged my feet returning to making videos because I knew I would be embarrassed at the results after that long. 🥺 I stressed about how hard it would be to catch up. I am pleased to say that after 4 months off, the channel resumed well in December and has been growing even more (and better than before) in my 4 weeks back! So if you have a fear like I had to not lose the momentum, it doesn't necessarily mean channel death like i anticipated. I completely understand why it is better NOT to take a break and consistency is key. But.. Do what you gotta do and get back on when you're ready! 🤠

500 Subscribers a day later!
My channel hit 400 subscribers yesterday morning and it just hit 500 today at about noon. Woo Hoo!!! To reach the first level of monetization I've got the sub count, but my watch time hours are way too low at only about 700 of the 3000 needed. I'll probably hit 1000 subs before hitting the watch time hours needed. It's still progress and it's still fun to see!! :)

@Eric Kootte Thank you so much for the sub as well! 🙏
Doubled my watch hours this weekend😊
It’s still a very small channel, but it’s very encouraging to see people are interested in the content. I’m excited to keep going. Thanks everyone here for the encouragement and support!!

@Jenny Sharratt I think that's great. I'm still learning as well, but just doing it every week is what it takes to get better. Well done!
Editing Software
After nearly a year using CapCut, it has some odd quirks with needing to be connected to the internet to perform. Often has glitches. I'm sure it has been discussed in this group, so without a massive search, I wondered if anybody had feedback on Davinci Resolve, (free or paid).. I have avoided this one due to the learning curve. I tried Descript a while back, didn't like it for my travel vlogging videos, although I'm sure it's great for talking head videos. welcome any comments or advice. Thanks!

@Fahad Khan thanks so much for your reply. I had Davinci in my computer from when I started about a year ago. I did not have time for all the tutorials then and I found Capcut to be super easy to work with my minimal editing capabilities. Today, I did the update, and it came up "non-responsive".. haha.. Such my luck all the time with editing!! I'll try to remove it completely and reinstall since I had not opened it for months, there was obviously a glitch. Thank you for your feedback.. I'll persevere with DR unless it doesn't allow me to..
