Tracking, data and insights
At the summer solstice, I committed to the next level Of good for tracking activities and habits. So I turned to my oura ring and have been diligently adding tags for cold exposure, resonance breathing, fasting, etc. At the same time, I started a 14 day cold exposure challenge (which I have kept going past the 14 days). Today Oura pointed out an emerging trend about cold exposure reducing my heart rate. Interesting. I love being able to “see” the impacts of these adversity habits that I may not be able to detect… this aligns with a target for me of increasing my HRV. Desiring a different result - which is the future me, means i am doing different habits, i am spending time differently - cold exposure, primal movement and resonance breathing daily. Dare to Be different. What are you daring to be?

@Nicole Stoddard thanks for sharing! I am going to give it a listen!
Finding my beginner primal movement…
Loving “Leo Moves” and getting into some of his beginner daily moves. This one has felt good this week and have been throwing it on the end of my morning yoga and sometimes just stand alone! What are you trying out? https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1FDEaH5xmu/?mibextid=wwXIfr
Primal Ayurveda Challenge Strategy - Think on a continuum
I found this inspiring at this start of the Primal Ayurveda Challenge. As we play and experiment with practices that are not habits...practices that are not engrained. Heck - we may not even know how this practice makes us feel. Just like a plow doesn't always break the ground deeply in the first pass, it takes time to develop a habit. So, one strategy is to embrace continuum thinking. Continuum thinking is understanding at one end there is not doing the action (doing nothing) and at the opposite end is doing the action perfectly (the right duration, intensity, place, etc) and seeing that there are a lot of options in between those two ends of the continuum that add value, energy and wellness. The opposite of continuum thinking is all or nothing thinking or "cognitive distortion" which is irrational thought patterns that skew your perceptions, hinder your progress and make you miserable. The Primal Ayurveda Challenge is all about upskilling your walk in this life. Somewhere along the continuum is better than nothing!

@Cate Stillman doing intermittent fasting helped me start to face this fear. longer fasts this year has further helped me dive to the root of this fear which firmly rests in patterns from early in life of conflict from key adults in my life. It feels so lightening to face this fear and feel okay. I may be uncomfortable and I am also okay…more ease amid the discomfort. I have found a sense of knowing I can stand in hungry and conflict in a loving way!
The power of adding in
Day 3…reaching into more subtle and making pranayama a non negotiable for the early morning practice. Striking my own match …who needs coffee? This is my go to practice below…

I like to start refreshes or detoxes with adding an emphasis on pranayama as it helps me connect with rhythm…in a world that can influence arrhythmia and promote chaos - my heartbeat reminds me I have a unique rhythm, and my breath is a rhythm. Particularly with the breath I develop an understanding that I can play with rhythm. In the start, I like this reminder and by the time I hit next week - playing with rhythm will feel more natural and doable, not daunting. So those longer fasts or FMD are easier. For those on the lighting up side - what a great way to find subtle nourishment instead of gross nourishment. I don’t need to reach for sugar or caffeine or food to get energized…my breath can do it. Have fun. Smile. Know that we are all waking up with you on Day 3.
