The Summer of One Million RPGs
This has been a very, very big summer for RPGs---I kickstarted Draw Steel, Cosmere RPG, and 13th Age 2e, and they're all dropping or have already dropped this summer, plus Daggerheart came out! Has anyone had a chance to run any of them? What are your thoughts? Are there more I'm missing? I am desperately hoping I can talk my group into trying Draw Steel haha, it's a very cool game from a company I respect a lot, but I haven't had the chance to run it. I've had some fun running Daggerheart, although I haven't had the chance to use it too much yet. Jonah is chomping at the bit for 13th Age, so I'm hoping we can play that when the final PDF comes out!

How is Draw Steel? Super crunchy?
Introduction
I think we're supposed to introduce ourselves. I'm Sam, 57 year old Game Designer and Author, have run TTRPGs my whole life. Always tend toward more narrative games with character and story being up front. Also tend towards sandbox games that encourage proactive play (but don't always get proactive players!)

@James Willetts I am pretty sure I couldn't find a group for Fatal, not that I have tried.
Looking for group...
Would love to run / play using a VTT and Discord: Daggerheart (using the SRD) Fate Core using a scenario I've put together simulating LitRPG books D&D 5E

Thank you kindly!
Passenger Royalty Syndrome?
I am very much looking forward to reading the book when it comes out on Kindle next month! I have watched Ginny Di's video about your book, though, and I was wondering if the book is going to address what I have come to recognize as "Passenger Royalty Syndrome" - i.e. the players want to be passengers / reactive than being pro-active, don't want to name any goals, don't want to really *do* anything because they are too used to being fed a story or even railroaded around a story.

I'm starting to think proactive players are made of gold.
Stealing Daggerheart Death Mechanic
Haven't had a chance to play it yet, but I absolutely love the concept of the death mechanic in daggerheart: when a player loses their last hit point, they choose one of three options: (1) Blaze of Glory where they get one action with an automatic critical hit and then the character is dead; (2) Play it Safe where the character is stable but out of the combat, but with a scar/consequence; or (3) Roll for It, where they have something akin to a death save. I love the player getting to choose when death fits the story and am looking at adapting this mechanic into my PF2e games.

I might suggest a fourth concept - the character could ascend into some kind of spiritual / divine protector or other being. That's similar to Last Stand/Blaze of Glory, but now the character is Obi-Wan Kenobi able to whisper into the ears of their team-mates!

@Eric Person Depends on the game, but maybe give them a pool of Inspiration points they can hand out in character?
