Boyer Coe on HIT
If you YouTube Mentzer, you’ll inevitably come across the videos of Mike training Boyer Coe in high intensity fashion. Coe actually worked with Arthur Jones and nautilus for some time. But he didn’t really believe in the HIT way of training. In the recent Shawn ray interview (link below, go to 28:30) he mentions that the “shorter is better” training philosophy was just a marketing ploy. My question is: if HIT works better, clearly Boyer would’ve seen this, as he had access to some of the best trainers and equipment while working for Nautilus right? Could it be that some people just don’t respond well to HIT? Video link: https://youtu.be/i4PZ5yPIq5M?si=xKirebtHe1TcTzda

So aside from yourself, Dorian Yates and your mentor Mike Mentzer, who else could be considered a HIT bodybuilder?
Cardio yay or nay?!
Can you do a cardio session in between days you lift when using HIT regiment? My profession, I.e. first responder, requires me to run to certain situations on the job
Deload week?
So my left pectoral muscle hasn’t been feeling good, feel like I’m not hit new PRs; I’m wondering if I need a week or two from hitting it heavy and what I should do in the meantime

It was, but I switched to dumbbell and machine for incline press and it hasn’t been an issue any longer; a simple variation switch did the job

@Mo Sz Not sure how it happened but it’s not happening anymore, looking more towards hammer or incline smith machine bench press, or dumbbell incline or reverse grip flat bench as alternatives
Welcome to HEAVY DUTY NATION
Brothers and sisters of intensity — welcome to HEAVY DUTY NATION. I’m Markus Reinhardt. Some of you know me from my eBooks, coaching, or YouTube channel, but here’s the bottom line:I trained with Mike Mentzer at Gold’s Gym Venice. I lived his philosophy. And I built this community to carry his Heavy Duty legacy forward — raw, unfiltered, and alive. This group is for those who refuse mediocrity. Who want to build muscle and burn fat in the most efficient, savage way possible. No gimmicks, no wasted sets, no excuses. 🔹 What You’ll Get Here: - True HIT Knowledge — the principles I learned directly from Mentzer. - Training & Nutrition Guidance — how to execute Heavy Duty for body recomposition. - Community Firepower — like-minded lifters who actually get it. - Direct Access — ask me questions, post your progress, share your battles. - Weekly Live Chats + Q&A — every week I’ll go live right here in the group to break down HIT, answer your questions, and keep you moving forward. 🔹 How to Get Started: 1. Drop a quick intro post — tell us who you are and your goals. 2. Dive into the discussions — don’t lurk, engage. 3. Share your workouts, progress pics, and questions — this place thrives on participation. This is more than a group. It’s a movement. We are HEAVY DUTY NATION. Now — let’s get to work. Markus

@Michael Serpico HIT clearly helped Mike Mentzer, only Mr Universe with a perfect 300 score, and helped Dorian Yates become a 6x Mr Olympia winner; I’ll take HIT over HVT because it allows me to do my workout and do other things

@Michael Serpico you mentioned every 4 days between workouts, so that’s the same split Mike Mentzer did, is that right? What do you with yourself in between those days? Active recovery, walking, swimming, etc? Asking to give myself and idea if that makes any sense.
What’s your #1 priority for joining Heavy Duty Nation?
Brothers, since you’re here at the ground floor of Heavy Duty Nation, I want to hear straight from you. Pick the one that hits hardest right now.
