Are you doing it alone?
You're facilitating community for others, holding space to make a difference, but who's supporting YOU? Running a Skool group can be isolating, especially in those early months. Skoolable is where group owners support each other. We get it. We’re in the trenches together. Sharing wins, challenges, and what’s working right now. HE WAS A CON-ARTIST………………………….
(This is very Backroom energy… you’ll see why) This kinda shocked me, blew my mind and everyone I shared it with felt the same… On my chit chat with a guy called Mikey , 70 years old. From the States. We ended up talking heaps. One of those rare, soul-filling convos that just flows. Smart. Humble. Grounded. I wish I’d got a picture of us, but hey I’ve got the story. (And he’s planning on staying in Bali, so maybe there’s a round two.) Anyway, among all the things we talked about life, food, Bali, travels, business, AI (he’s more clued up than most 30-year-olds), one thing really stayed with me. He told me about how his son landed an epic job recently. How? He wrote a handwritten letter yep, cursive (his words) and posted it. Envelope. Stamp. Phone number. The works. He got the job. Because it stood out. Because it was personal. Because it had… confidence. Then Mikey shared more. That every job he’d ever gotten in his career (he used to build houses) came from him walking up and saying: “I’ll build your kitchen. You only pay me when you’re happy.” Every single person paid him. Not just paid him, they recommended him. He had more work than he could handle. He made millions before the job even started. Why? Confidence… And then he said something that made me pause, like wtf He said, “I was a con artist back then.” I did a double take — like, huh? 🧐 Then he smiled and said, “You know what con artist used to mean, right? Confidence artist.” So of course, this morning I looked it up. And yep, he was right. Back in the 1800s, there was a guy called William Thompson in New York. He’d approach people and ask “Do you have the confidence to lend me your watch until tomorrow?” They’d say yes. Because he sounded so sure. So trustworthy. So certain. They called him a “confidence man.” Which became con man. Then con artist. Sure, it’s taken on a more shady meaning now. But originally? It wasn’t about deception.

Love this story @Mimi Ramsey! 🤩
Announcement - We have a new moderator!!! 🎉
I have the amazing opportunity to announce that @Mimi Ramsey has agreed to join us all the way from Bali, so we now pretty much have 24/7 moderator support for this amazing community. Mimi is an absolute powerhouse when it comes to building communities that are full of personality and that represent your unique uniqueness! I'm really excited that she has agree to join the team, and I can't wait to have her present her own masterclass for you all. In addition, I want to sincerely thank @Mona Weathers for all of her work as the first CLASSIFIEDS moderator. She believed in this group from day one, championed it, and helped me build it into what it is today! Mona has had such incredible success in her own community that she has had to step down as moderator here so that she can support her own members fully, but she is still here, and you will still see her around. 😊 As you already know, @Faith Adebayo recently joined the moderator team and has been doing an incredible job supporting everyone in the comments and most especially bringing us very valuable information through her masterclass about how to increase our visibility through our CLASSIFIEDS posts! Faith will continue to work with me and Mimi as we have now grown to a team of 3!!! Please help me congratulate the effervescent @Mimi Ramsey on her new role!

Two New Masterclasses on the CLASSIFIEDS Calendar!
I'm so excited to share that we have two more amazing members sharing their expertise in value-first masterclasses in February! @Melanie Bourbeau of Peace, Purpose, and Profit will be hosting "𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗬𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗰𝗸. (𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝗿, 𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲)" on February 12th. This is for faith-led women who have done some inner work and are not in a current mental health crisis but still feel stalled between healing and walking in their purpose. And @Traci Poe of Public Speaker's Growth Hub will be hosting "𝗩𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲" on February 24th. During “Video Camera Comfort Starts Here” we’ll uncover the deeper reasons you have anxiety when it comes to hitting record on your camera, being a guest on a podcast, or speaking at a virtual summit, and then we'll give you some steps to do something about that! Check the times on the calendar and then add it to your own calendar so that you don't forget!!! Also please note that I will be hosting a free masterclass on Feb 9th called "𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹" where you will learn how to stand out for all the right reasons! What you put in your classroom represents you & the kind of results you can help your members achieve. Having a high-quality course (different from high production value) is crucial to standing out from everyone else who has communities similar to yours. See you there!

THIS ISN’T A THING YOU “GET.” IT’S A THING YOU STEP INTO.
NOT EVERYTHING IS MEANT TO BE GOT. AND I’M KINDA OK WITH THAT…. So I was in another community this morning. One of those spaces where you can ask for feedback on your About page. You know the ones. And I put the BACKROOM in there, partly out of curiosity, partly because I’m nosy, partly because I actually don’t mind when people say “I don’t get it.” I really don’t. No offence taken. ZERO. And guess what. A HEAPS A PEEPS didn’t get it. And honestly… I was like, yeah. That makes TOTES sense to me Because the BACKROOM isn’t meant to be got. It’s not a thing you read once and go “ah yes, I fully understand this concept.” It’s not a neat little box. It’s not a promise of one shiny outcome. It’s not “do X and you’ll get Y by Tuesday.” It’s not even really a product, if I’m being honest. It’s a SPACE. And that’s the bit people seem to struggle with a lot. Because we’re so used to needing to explain the outcome before we’re allowed to exist somewhere. I have been this person big time. What’s the result? What do I get? What will I be in three months? What’s the transformation? What’s the funnel? What’s the thingy thing? And the BACKROOM sits in that bit that many people skip. Or rush. Or avoid completely. It’s the bit BEFORE the action. Before the doing. Before the posting. Before the selling. Before the strategy. It’s the messy middle. The wobble. The thinking-out-loud. The saying-the-thing-before-you’re-ready bit. The “is it just me?” bit. The confidence wobble. The WOOP moments. The WOBBLE moments. The very HUMAN “I’m in it” bit. And yeah, people asked me things like “I’m not sure what you sell.” again I was like… yeah. Because tbf I’m not selling an outcome in here. Not a universal one anyway. The outcome is different for every single epic person inside. And that’s kinda the whole point. The outcome is that you get to be YOU.Right now As you totes are. Not future you.Not polished you.Not healed-you-with-a-bow-on-top. Just you. In it. With other humans. Doing life and business and community and creativity and doubt and excitement all at once.
