Letting go of a habit
In last week’s live coaching call, Connie asked us to choose one thing — a habit, an object, something physical — and let go of it for seven days. I decided to turn my phone off between 8 pm and 8 am. It’s not that I spend my evenings or mornings endlessly scrolling — and certainly not during the night. But I do often pick up my phone for a quick check. Just to see if there are any new messages. Just in case. By switching it off for twelve hours, I wanted to see what would happen. I expected the evenings to be the hardest part. But, interestingly, it was the mornings that challenged me most. While waiting for my tea to be ready, my hand would instinctively reach for my phone. A quick glance. Any messages? Any news? Has anything ‘important’ happened while I slept? I’m slowly getting used to not knowing what happened in the world overnight. And I already know now that this is something I want to continue doing. It feels freeing and deeply calming. It also reminds me of my twenties and thirties — a time when we didn’t know what had happened until we read the morning newspaper. And even then, it only told us about the day before, not the night we had just slept through. And I don't think that I missed out on anything back then, quite the contrary. Thank you, @Connie Riet , for this inspiration! ♥️

@Cristina Tudor I will definitively stick with it. It's really very freeing. And I can highly recommend it.
Tiny Step 🪴 Jan 23, 2026
Hello friends, I hope all of you have a great Friday. If you’re new here, Fridays are our Tiny Step days, one small, simple practice that can create a noticeable shift toward more peace, calm, or inner guidance. This week’s Tiny Step is a 2–3 minute experiment designed to bring a little more clarity, calm, or breathing room into your day. Head to the Classroom at the top and go inside the free course The Path to Mindful Living. Go to Unit 2 and click on the Unit 2 - Guide 1 in the resources section and choose the one exercise that resonates with you most today. Try just one. Stop when you feel a shift. If you feel like sharing, I’d love to hear which exercise you chose and what you noticed after trying it. You’re welcome to post here or message me privately, sometimes naming the shift is part of the shift itself. ✨

@Cheryl G Thank you, Cheryl. 😊 For many years I had the same 'issue' that I wanted to try many different things. However, a few years ago I realized how important pottery was to me. And this was when I started doing.

Oh my goodness! I had a lightbulb moment in this class. Thanks, my beautiful friends for a VERY enlightening class. I eliminate the unnecessary mental exercise of WORRYING. Worrying has never improved anything in my life, but, it has certainly made my life more complicated.

@Julia Dinter I love, love, love this. This could become the mantra of this group 'How good can it get'. YES! Thanks for sharing this powerful sentence. ♥️
Live coaching call yesterday
Yesterday's call was so insightful, thank you all of you who shared your thoughts and brought in new inspiration. The topic was all about removing what’s unnecessary, mentally and physically, from emotional clutter and overthinking… all the way down to the very practical question of how many plastic bags one person actually needs under the kitchen sink ☺️ Here are a few standout moments from the call @Jennifer Kearney sparked a moment of collective laughter and insight when she shared her under-the-sink cleanout, including 65 reusable bags 😅 Her realization was gold: not everything you keep is serving you… and “just in case” can quietly steal your space, time, and energy. @Cheryl G brought a powerful reflection on worry; asking the simple but transformative question: “Would it help?” That one landed deeply and became a thread many of us carried through the rest of the call. @Rebecca Loetscher shared something so honest and relatable: the guilt that comes not from doing too much… but from having the freedom to choose it opened a beautiful discussion around emotional clutter, especially guilt that serves no one. @Patricia Werner shared a powerful reminder through the story of monks who carry only what they need, trusting life instead of overpreparing, and how freeing that kind of simplicity can be. The recording + written highlights will be added to the archive so you can revisit the insights, reflections, and prompts shared today. ✨For those who are interested in attending our live coaching calls/Growth in Action practice 🌳 and coffee chats, they are included in our premium membership https://www.skool.com/mindfulsimplicity/plans

Thank you all for yesterday's discussions. This call is quickly becoming one of my highlights of the week.
Coffee Chat is coming!!!!
And I feel like this is worth sharing. What a fabulous way for us to connect and enjoy a beverage and visit in real time. I always see some of the deepest conversations during her zoom groups, so if you haven’t participated, I would encourage you to! No makeup required, just come as you are, and see what comes up! I love meeting friends for coffee, so I’ll see you all there!
