Taking Some Time To Consider What’s Awesome
Have you ever sat down for 10 minutes and used that time to consider what you have in life? To consider what’s important to you? It’s actually kind of cool. I’ve chosen a nice park in Windsor in which to do it today. Take the time. You won’t regret it. Let us know what comes out of it. For me it’s family, a job that provides and watching my daughter do great things as she grows up and gets stronger. Thanks to @Hilbert Monsuur and @Daniel Halls for showing the way towards being grateful. It’s a great place to be.

@David East agreed.
Deep Contradictions In Human Nature
Some people dream of having a swimming pool at home, while those who have one barely use it. Those who have lost a loved one feel a profound sense of loss, while others often complain about the relatives still in their lives. Those without a partner long for one, while those who have a partner often fail to appreciate them. The hungry would give anything for a meal, while the full complain about the taste of their food. Those without a car dream of owning one, while those who have a car are always looking for a better one. The key to happiness is gratitude. To truly see and value what we already have, and to understand that somewhere, someone would give everything for what we take for granted. What are you grateful for today?

Lovely post @David East and comment @Hilbert Monsuur I'm grateful that I know not to take anything for granted and appreciate the struggles as learnings.
How To Lead People Older, Younger & Wildly Different Than You
What do you think of this portrayal of how to treat different generations? As a Gen X Man, I’m pretty confident that if you give me freedom to work the way I like with a sprinkle of autonomy, I’ll do just about anything for you. I actually use this a bit at work due to the fact that 80% of the workforce are millennials and Gen Z. Having said that, there’s something about young people that join the military that sets them apart from these normal stereotypes. What’s your workforce like in comparison?

@David East hahahahaha. let me help you out with that: If they've been teaching for 20+ years Gen x - boomer territory. They have no filter, school of hard knocks and university of life stuff going on there. These teachers pick up the phone and actually call you. Email is annoying. If they eat smashed avo and drink a 'magic' coffee whilst walking around with airpods in their ears, millenials. They have super quick thumbs on their phones and can still probably touch type. These guys are the quickest to respond via email. They only call if they have to or have been told they have too. If they look like they are still high school students themselves and don't take well to any feedback at all without their bottom lip quivering and taking 3 days off for mental health reasons afterwards, Gen Z. These guys get someone else to call you, and take 3 days to respond to their emails. Hope that helps?

@David East 😊 you're welcome.
Connection call cx
Hello all. I’m going to have to cancel tonight’s Connection Call. It’s the wife’s birthday so I’m going to hang with her. I look forward to hanging with you next week, though.

@Ashley East Awwww that's adorable! Enjoy the craft! If you start collecting too much or its not their best work and you really don't need it on the fridge.... Take a photo, save it to the cloud or google and show them where it is and then tell them that you want to look at it whenever you want, where ever you want because you can't keep it all. The fridge is not big enough. Then you can dispose if required. Pro tip. You're welcome. 🤣
New Starliner Case Study
I'll tell you something that blows my mind. When large organisations fail, there is definitely a lot that we can learn. I've added a new case study in the classroom called Boeing Starliner that goes into it. Members who are in the Human Factors Kickstart course cover this as part of the course. Go ahead and discuss it here if you feel inclined to do so.

This sounds really interesting. I'm sorry to admit that I was not aware these were in your classroom. This sounds really fascinating. I intend to have a good read of these. All those case studies look super educational.
