Just a quick message to say hello and talk about how delightful the Berowra Waters ferry crossing is.

Living on an Air Force Base ✈️ Sometimes it’s really quiet. Some days can be absolutely awesome. Today the RAAF Roulettes are in town for the Royal Easter Show. We are always lucky to get an impromptu aerobics display when they’re here. The wife and kids absolutely love it. I especially love the fact that I know some of the pilots flying those awesome planes. What a job. Who’s seen The Roulettes?

Yesterday was a good day. We ran an Easter Egg Hunt for Defence families in the Western Sydney region. An opportunity to gather families together and show some appreciation for what the Defence member is doing, as well as highlighting the awesome support that their spouses are providing. My wife and kids had a great time hunting Easter eggs, patting alpaca's with awesome haircuts and making new friends. Where there are Defence families, there is plenty of gratitude. Some of the things we ask our members and families to deal with are not normal daily situations. We've got member's posted in the Middle East, South Sudan, Poland and everywhere in between. Being a spouse at home with the kids while your partner is in some of those places, while nerve wracking, provides a sense of pride while stretched. Throwing a few Easter eggs around is a simple thing we can do to show that gratitude, but it's the relationships that are built that makes it worthwhile.

This week I had a couple of conversations that genuinely made my week. The first was with @Bryanna Patterson, who reached out to share that she'd watched my courses and found real value in them. I jumped at the chance to connect and we ended up in a spontaneous live chat. Bryanna, your feedback energised me more than I can express, and the suggestions you offered for improving the courses were exactly the kind of honest input this community exists for. Thank you. The second was my regular Wednesday night connection call, this time with @David Ferris, who works in an industry I know very little about. We swapped real stories, had a few laughs, and got genuinely serious at points too. The best kind of conversation. Bryanna and David, a heartfelt thanks to you both. It's conversations like these that remind me exactly why I started this community. I walked away having learned something from each of you, and I'm really looking forward to more of these chats.

Have you ever sat down for 10 minutes and used that time to consider what you have in life? To consider what’s important to you? It’s actually kind of cool. I’ve chosen a nice park in Windsor in which to do it today. Take the time. You won’t regret it. Let us know what comes out of it. For me it’s family, a job that provides and watching my daughter do great things as she grows up and gets stronger.
