Build an Audience or Build Systems? The Choice Every Coach Faces
I’ve noticed that a lot of fitness coaches and trainers put in countless hours trying to grow their brand, post on social media, and run back-to-back sessions with clients — but at the end of the day, they still feel stuck when it comes to creating consistent income or reaching a wider audience. The truth is, there’s only so much time in a day, and if everything depends on you being present 24/7, burnout eventually kicks in. What’s interesting is that some coaches have started looking at things differently. Instead of only chasing likes and followers, they’ve begun building assets that actually work for them in the background. For example, a channel that keeps attracting people to their content every single day, or a system that allows clients to purchase programs or products without needing the coach to be online. It’s a completely different way of thinking — one that focuses on growth that scales beyond your personal time and energy. It made me curious to hear from others in this community: if you had to choose only one, would you rather spend your energy on building a bigger online audience (through platforms like YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok) or setting up systems that can sell your programs and products automatically (like online shops or funnels)? And why?

Personally, I’d choose building a personal brand all day. From my own experience, I spent years trying to grow just around football camps, and it was tough. What I realized is the most powerful thing you can do is build a brand that’s you. These days, with AI and so much fake/saturated content out there, people want someone real and raw they can actually connect with. So I pivoted. Instead of chasing flashy content, I started posting longer, organic clips of me actually coaching my clients. That’s what got athletes from all over the world to buy into my coaching. From there, I funneled everyone into a community where they could help each other, and I’d show up to guide them along the way. The best part? The most dedicated people naturally reached out for more, and that’s where the conversions came from. It wasn’t forced — it just built over time. The key is not stressing if everything doesn’t come right away. Play the long game and let it compound.

New Event 🚨
After the good reception from the first zoom meeting. @Nicholas Dheilly and I have decided to make our zoom calls a recurring event. These zoom calls will be covering all topics in relation to injuries, rehab and strength training as well as general Q&A. We are making this free to members or our community and encourage everyone to join and interact. We are initially going to start doing these every 2 weeks but that could go up to more if there is increased demand. As was true with the first. The meetings will be recorded and uploaded into classroom section for anyone looking at consuming the content. Let me know what kind of topics you are interested in below ⬇️ Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
