Scripture: “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.” — Isaiah 60:1 This verse is not a suggestion. It’s a command. God does not say, “Wait until you feel ready.” He says, Arise. He does not say, “Shine once everything is perfect.” He says, Shine. Why? Because your light has already come. Isaiah 60 was spoken into a season of rebuilding—after loss, after exile, after failure. Darkness surrounded God’s people, yet God didn’t start by changing their circumstances. He started by calling something out of them. You don’t arise because life is easy. You arise because God’s glory is on you. The light mentioned here isn’t self-confidence, motivation, or hype. The light is the presence of God resting on His people. Even when the world feels heavy. Even when your past tries to define you. Even when you feel behind, tired, or uncertain. God says: “Stand up. Lift your head. Let Me be seen through you.” Darkness doesn’t stop light—it reveals it.
