Most parents think a great education means getting straight Aโ€™s...
and getting into the right collegeโ€ฆ but my wife would argue that the most important thing weโ€™re teaching our kids has nothing to do with academicsโ€ฆ and in a world of A.I. & Identity politics Iโ€™d have to agree. After 6 years of building a location independent business and my wife spending years becoming a psychotherapist and learning about Rudolf Steinerโ€™s Waldorf Education โ€ฆ When I woke up this morning and saw all of that hard work my wife has put in to create the classroom for our daughters first day of Grade 1... Iโ€™d be lying if I said I didnโ€™t cry a little. We chose the hard pathโ€ฆ it wasnโ€™t fast, easy or comfortable โ€ฆ but being able to homeskool and soon to worldskool has always been our familyโ€™s north star goal and in order to create it weโ€™ve had to overcome a bunch of challenges: 1๏ธโƒฃ The Location independence challenge: Finding a way to build my own business that allowed me to work from anywhere, on my own schedule 2๏ธโƒฃ The Money Challenge: Creating enough income to support our household so my wife didnโ€™t have to work and could invest in our kids and learning how to homeskool and create this amazing environment 3๏ธโƒฃ. The Time Challenge: The ridiculous amount of hours it took in the beginning to get the business of the ground and then learning how to buy back my time both in the business and in our household 4๏ธโƒฃ. The Relational Challenge: Many times both of feeling misunderstood, under-appreciated and disconnected. And as we get to our daughters first day 1 of Grade one Iโ€™m feeling so proud and grateful for my wife and that we chose the hard path together and made it here. This is what weโ€™ve been working towards and she has created such a beautiful space for our kids to learn and grow and become whole humans. Where we can protect their childhood while fostering their imagination and creativity. Where we get to create the freedom for them to learn at their natural pace and development stage. Before you think I'm suggesting everyone should homeschool (I'm not), let me be clear: the real message here isn't about where your kids learn โ€ฆ it's really just about being intentional with the choices you make for your family, whatever those choices might be. and this was ours.

We Flipped the Script (And Raised $102k at our IRL Skool Event)
Last week we ran our first IRL Skool Summit. It was amazing and... has completely changed how I am thinking about business, community, and what we're actually doing here. The big shift stemmed from a small question: Instead of asking "How much can we make?" we started asking "How much can we give?" And honestly? It's been the most inspiring thing I've done in years. So let me tell you a short story... About 6 months ago, my business partner @Alexander VandeLaar and I had this idea for a one-day summit in our little hometown of Kelowna (150k people, nothing fancy). We decided to combine it with one of our 5 day Client Mastermind Retreats and make it something special since @Goose Dunlavey and his team ( @Tony Loew , @Yahya Kazi , @Vincent Roswandowicz ) were coming through town for the Skool World Tour. The plan was simple: Sell tickets to the 1 Day Summit for $299 (Discounted most for $150), cover expenses, and donate 100% of profits to Ronald McDonald House (RMH) We chose that charity for a couple of reasons. #1 - They were local #2 - Many local legends support them and we thought they might get behind our event #3 - My niece needed a multi visceral transplant when she was 1 and was supported by them We brought in some incredible speakers: Our favorite Skoolers like @Evelyn Weiss (all the way from austria) @Ted Carr @Matthew Thompson (all the way from ireland) ... Legends @Daniel Bissonnette & @Benny D shared their wisdom too plus local legends like Dan Martell and his wife Renee Warren, Nick Kusmich (the billion-dollar ad guy turned modern shaman), and Kevin Preston shared their genius.

@Dan Harrison Brother this is such powerful stuff. Not just what you've done for other people but the story itself. grateful to have made your acquaintance even though just online here. That's extremely inspiring. I appreciate what your team and community continues to deliver to the community here.
