Sharing one of my biggest wins from this year
This year I was asked to do the best man for a wedding and you know what that means… the best man speech. You might think this would be easy for me, I’ve made loads of YouTube videos and presented for some of the biggest UK brands but here’s the thing, I still get nervous as s***. But I do it anyway. And this is honestly what I think separates the 90% with the 10%. We are all human. I get sad. I get happy. I get nervous. I get excited. I feel all sorts of emotions, it’s normal! But actually taking the action and doing the thing despite how you feel is what truly makes you GREAT! So I knew that when my best mate asked me to do a speech I would be absolutely terrified but I said yes because if I want to reach my goals and speak in front of a bigger crowd, I’ve gotta start by taking a small step. Thanks for listening to my TED talk. Please share a story of when you were absolutely terrified of doing something but did it anyway under this post! I would love to hear your stories and inspire others.

Great job Tom! I can only imagine the stress of having to give that speech, and I hope I get the honor to do it some day. One thing that I've noticed in every wedding I've attended though, is that the best man always gets to pick on the groom. It's hilarious every time, from an innocent, embarrassing childhood story, to how they cried watching Titanic (fair enough), to how they met their now wife by accidently almost killing her on a hiking trip. Side note: I wonder if the hiking thing has ever actually happened to someone..? Genuine question, did you put any jokes in there? Let me know!
Dopamine Detox
I've found this challenge online which I've heard before and I'm sure you have too called the dopamine detox. This is my first time really looking into it, and it's very appealing to me. To explain quickly what it is, it's a detox from all fake dopamine in your life, such as doom scrolling, lusting or porn, social media, etc. For me personally, I'm addicted to doom scrolling, so that's the main thing I am cutting out, but of course I'm also stopping the rest. To substitute for this loss of quick, instant dopamine, you find natural ways to get it, like what we would do before scrolling was a thing. I've compiled a list of 20 thing's good for you to do instead of falling into quick dopamine again, and I'll put it below, feel free to add as you like. 1. Read the Bible 2. Journal / Meditate / Pray 3. Exercise (Anything physical) 4. Cook a good meal 5. Learn a new skill 6. Work 7. Socialize (Facetime and text count but physically is preferred) 8. Watch 'productive' content. 9. Go for a walk outside 10. Work on a hobby 11. Read a book 12. Listen to music 13. Drink Water 14. Sit calmly, do nothing, enjoy life 15. Shower 16. Help somebody 17. Study for either educational or personal purposes 18. Talk to women specifically (or your gf) 19. Talk to family (not just immediate) 20. Take a power nap I'm going to be doing this for only 7 days, as apparently that's all you need to have a noticeable impact and to have a mental drive to stay away from the quick dopamine. That being said, after these 7 days, I'm still going to avoid falling into the same traps I did before, as their effect remains the same. I'm letting everyone in this community know about this incase you want to attempt it with me, or do it on your own time. I hope you found this helpful!
