What Actually Works (Not What Looks Good)
I just posted a YouTube video about this, but I want to bring it here. Most people don’t fail because they lack equipment. They fail because they keep changing their system. New split. New program. New gear. I’ve owned a lot. I’ve sold a lot. And what I keep coming back to is simple: The stuff you actually do wins. They hear this in the Fire Service, somebody will ask “what’s the best nozzle (referring to smooth bore, combination, etc)? The answer is “the one on your engine.” It’s the equipment you have, use it. Commitment to what you already have gives the best results. Earn the upgrade. I’m curious, What does your current training actually look like right now? Not your perfect scenario. Not what Instagram says. Just real life. - Dumbbells? - Kettlebells? - Barbell? - Full body? - “Whatever I can fit in today”? Drop it below. No judgment. Clarity beats perfection every time. Keep working hard. ☘️

Currently, it’s the Benchpress and dumbbells with my trainer - I’m horrible about working out solo, unless it’s walking 2-3 miles at a nearby walking track (when it’s not so freaking cold). I’ve been trying to do some cardio at home on my own with the punching bag.
Treadmill Recommendations
Does anyone have a recommendation for a treadmill with incline for a home gym? Pros/cons? Thanks!

Thanks for adding me to the community! I’m 51 and trying to add muscle and tone up and connect with guys doing the same for motivation, accountability, and tips. Work with my trainer 2-3x week and trying to add 1-2 more workouts on my own to amp up my progress. Down 25 lbs consistently from over a year ago. It’s so easy too skip a solo workout! 🙄

@Mark Maguire thanks for the warm welcome! My trainer has a martial arts background and I used to do cardio kickboxing classes 20+ years ago. We haven’t used bag work in our sessions lately because we’ve focused on lifting for hypertrophy. I’ve been using the bag this week to get my cardio. My trainer says I should put videos of my training with my cat, Simon, on YouTube. Simon has been known to lay on my back during a plank or just attach himself to my leg or arm with his claws during an exercise. 😜🙄
