A Human-first Resilience Framework for the creative industry within the EU
As a founder of this community I’m involved in an EU research project exploring resilience as a lived, daily, and processual practice, which asks how creativity might ground us, connect us, and equip us to imagine — and act on — more humane, inclusive, and future-ready systems. Key areas of exploration: -Learning from those who dare to stand outside the system -Creative thinking for ethical, inclusive systems in the AI age -Resilience as lived, human practice -Creativity, storytelling, and adaptive capacity -Economic and collaborative models for humane, preventive resilience If you’re interested AND have time to get involved.. Raise your hand 🙋🏻 in the comments (this week) and I’ll tell you more.

🙌 two hands raised! 😁 Interested. Writing helps us organize our thinking and cope with the stressors of life. This is why I write and create the spaces for parents and adolescents to 'organize their thoughts' in stories.
Which cover 'feels like home' for you?
Tapping into the 'wisdom of the crowd'. Which cover makes you think "Humm...that book looks welcoming. I'd open it." I'm LITERALLY asking you to judge a book by it's cover. 📚🤔 😁 There is: 1. Warm watercolor 2. Muted watercolor 3. Warm line-art Our (@Mark Vandeneijdne and myself) book, "Coming Home to Who You Are" has original cover artwork by Monia Pereira. However, we're using AI to play with the styles, and see which one resonates more. Open to helping? If you had to decide on a cover, which would it be?

@Nadene Canning For sure! Our publish date is September 25th but there will updates before then. The story and illustrations is continuing to be refined based on feedback. I'm excited for what we have to share.
Inviting Feedback for Inner Development EdTech Platform
Hey there, I'm developing an app for post-secondary learners to link their Inner Development Goals (IDGs) with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through projects. There's a demo video below. The goal is two-fold: 1. develop adolescent/youth well-being from the inside out 2. accelerating SDG progress through actionable IDG practices Site for feedback: https://projects.marcushiggs.com/ Check out the demo: https://v0-project-spark-finder.vercel.app/ What features would you recommend for this app? Thanks for your feedback!

@Ruby Campbell thank you. So you know, I’ll more fully pursue this project later this year. Currently, I’m working on a similar workflow for families. Same principles but at a customer level. ‘Project Impact Alignment’ will be open source and at an enterprise level, B2B. I’m validating n the GROW Method for families, B2C, which starts with “Guided Inner Development”.

@Marvin Maneve Thank you for your feedback Maneve. So you know, Project Impact Alignment will most likely be 6 months to a year from now. I'm currently working on a smaller project that will help prepare me for Project Impact Alignment. At that time, I plan for Project Impact Alignment to be open source, and I'll bring on several developers to help me with that. My current project is a bit more philosophical, literally. I'm working on helping a person getting aligned with themselves, then their families, then we move it to institutes. Still inner development, but on a personal level first, then in a closer sphere of influence with their family, before radiating out You can see my current project is here. It's a manuscript and toolkit of a contemporary translation of Meditations for adolescents and young people. Currently I connect the Virtues-in-Action Framework, VIA, to the Meditations, however I'm open to writing a section for IDGs, as I appreciate the concept of 'dimensions' rather than 'character strengths'.

Just finished reading the first two chapters and want to quickly share these two ideas that come to mind. 1. New Word—Proflection: this is the learning from and leading with the “emerging future”. Learning that happens when we bend the future into existence from in front of us. Giving our awareness to the future and putting it into action, i.e. hope. As oppose to 'reflection', the learning that happens when we bend the past into existence from behind us. 2. "There's no meaning without context." This is an principle from communication. As change makers, be intentional on creating the context and spaces we hold. This relates to the 'social soil'. What emerges comes from how we intentionally cultivated the soil. (There's a longer conversation there when we study history and colonization—but that's a different conversation.) Combining those ideas, let's create the context for well-being and 'proflect'. That's what the IDG and Presencing work is all about! (Now let me go finish the book.) Wishing you all the best on the journey. Looking forward to the next call.

@Nadene Canning I'm open to understanding another word or phrase if one is offered. As a communicator I know, 'words don't have meanings, people have meanings for words'. At the root of the word 'intention', it describes the very act of 'putting tension into the situation'. That's what the 5th dimension of 'Action' is about. Change comes about by different forces being in alignment and out of alignment with one another. Inherently, that creates tension. --- I used the term 'bend the future' because, again at the root of the word', 'flect' means 'to bend'. 'Reflect', for me, means bending past experiences into your awareness. This led to 'proflect', bending future experiences into your awareness. For me, it's the same as holding a vision while being a hopeful, active, agent and change maker to bring that about. There's an absence of expectation, yet a full presence of intention and anticipation. Again, I'm open to hear another perspective.
“What if abundance is already here – but we’ve forgotten how to see it?”
In our April InnerDevelopment@Work community call last week, we explored abundance – not as a goal to chase, but as a mindset we can cultivate. Not in some faraway ideal – but right here, in our everyday lives and in our work with clients and organizations. 🌱 Nature constantly creates abundance – yet we often rush past it, disconnected. As changemakers, we see how this rush extends into business life: there is little space for pausing, reflecting, realigning.Overconsumption, burnout, “not enough” – these are the symptoms of a deeper imbalance. Together, we reflected: 🌀 What if abundance is a matter of perspective? 🌀 What if the IDGs are not abstract ideals, but concrete levers to shift how we perceive and act – in ourselves and in systems? Especially dimensions like Complexity Awareness and Perspective Skills help us reframe: - From scarcity to presence. - From chasing more to seeing enough. - From stuckness to aligned action. 🌱 "𝑨𝒃𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒔." That was our most powerful collective insight. We would love to hear from you: 💬 What does abundance mean for you — in your life, your work, or the systems you’re part of? 🧭 How might the IDG skills — across all five dimensions of Being, Thinking, Relating, Collaborating, and Acting — help us notice and value the abundance we already have? Feel free to share your perspective in the comments — let’s make visible how diverse, grounded and human abundance can be.

I understand how we generally use 'abundance' and 'scarcity', however there's another perspective I'd love to share. Abundance means 'abounding, over flowing' and 'scarcity' means 'less than enough'. What if in every moment there is 'fullness'? Said another way, 'contentment', 'complete', 'fulfillment'. It's not more than, it's not less than. It is. Moment to moment—it's 'full'.
