I had a pretty good week at the thrift shops, though I came away empty handed several times. That’s part of thrifting! I did have a few nice finds, starting with a Marc Anthony suit coat, new, with tags from Kohl’s. This is definitely not a high end coat, but for $7.00 I can either wear it or use it for a test piece for tailoring. Also found a nice John Varvatos dress shirt for $4.00. Got a pair of Jos. A Banks, new with tags, trousers for $7.00. Lastly and probably my best find, a 100% silk, USA-made neck tie with fly fishing gentlemen on it. Definately made me think of @Brian McGuire !

This was me yesterday. Thanks to some of the advice received from many of you, I got me a nice jacket, new trousers, and a plain white shirt. I got many compliments, especially from the wife and I have to thank you all for it. I still need to hem those trousers, and I hope I can get a proper pair of oxford brogues soon. But I'm working on it! Stay stylish!

I´m still figuring out my "style". Most of the clothes I´m wearing were given to me last year by fellow churchgoers. I bought the tie at a thrift store, I loved the tone and thought I could pull it off. Alright gentlemen. Roast away!

We had lunch at Longhorn Steakhouse today after church. Robin is wearing a light floral skirt with a green and lavender pattern, a seersucker lavender gingham blouse, a purple straw fedora and blue sandals. I am wearing seersucker trousers, my lavender db jacket, a white dress shirt, a purple wild rag with a scarf ring, my straw Stetson Open Road and the burgundy double monks. Someone had asked the other day about a wearing a Western Hat without wearing Western boots. Here is an appropriate example of doing so. I could have worn my Luchesse boots which are about the same color as the double monks but it is over ninety degrees Fahrenheit out there so the monks just made more sense.

My nephew turned 16 last Wednesday and I turn 65 tomorrow so my Dad and step Mom took the family, including my mom and kids 11 of us in all to a nice restaurant called Smoke for brunch. After church and a 20 minute drive we had a great time. My body building son is going to help me with my next phase of goals.
