Questions for those who are medicated for ADHD (or medication in general)
I would like to hear some first hand experiences if you are willing to share. I have recently been encouraged to seek ADHD medication and as someone who hasn't used meds, it is very hard for me to imagine what exactly it could do for me and if it is something I want to pursue. I guess I am trying to decipher how much of my mental struggles are due to ADHD or if it is something else, and what medication could potentially "fix" for me. I'd like to hear about - - What are your experiences with different types (stimulants/non-stimulants)? - What major struggles you had before and how medication helped? - If it was something that helped temporarily or a long term solution? - How does it affects your mood? Has your ADHD linked to depression? - Any other experience/information that might be relevant Any comments would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Not Meds per se but I've had a lot of success with OTC cupplements like L-Theanine and Ashwagandha- helps to "quiet the noise" in my head and makes it easier to focus.
3 things I've learned from launching Focus Founders
@Rex Loyer and I launched Focus Founders just 4 months ago. Since then, we've grown to 185 members, consistently get 15-25 people showing up to our weekly co-working meetups, and have almost made enough for me to quit my second business and go full-time with this company. The Focus Founders' mission is simple: Help as many ADHD entrepreneurs as possible to build incredible, life-fulfilling businesses that benefit the world. Here are 3 things I've learned from these 4 months building this startup: 1) Free is for ME! When I moved to Austin, I had a problem: Everyone hosting events wanted my money. $20 for this men's circle. $40 for this sound healing experience. $150 for this drop-in. Everyone asked, but no one gave. No one cared about who I was until after I gave them money. I get it; businesses gotta make money. People gotta eat. But I wasn't about that life. I wanted to make community and connection accessible. So we launched Focus Founders (Free!). And we told EVERYONE about it. Within the first month, we hit nearly 100 membersโ€”and most of them were local to Austin. Since then, we've changed the name to simply: Focus Founders. We are not a free community. We are a COMMUNITY that happens to be FREE to join. Will it always be that way? I don't know. But it worked for us for now, because it removed any barrier to entry. It's a no brainer; if you are an ADHD entrepreneur, you belong in Focus Foundersโ€”full stop. (Side note: I love using em dashes (โ€”). This was written by ME, untouched by AI. I've been using these em dashes in my writing for years. Curse you, AI, for ruining one of my favorite writing tools! I digress.) So anyway... we wanted this community to be accessible for anyone. The only cost is that you fill out a few questions with some effort. That's it. Yes, this is a funnel for our paid offerings. If you're in Focus Founders, you've probably been pitched on our paid Focus Founders Accelerator program (doors close in 3 days BTW! Book a call with Rex to apply if you're interested in changing your life forever.)

This is a gold mine. I think 3 things are key to building something that'll both make an impact *and* sustainably make a living for the people who run it. I will be using these as I build out my own business. Focus Founders is exactly what I (and others here like me) needed at this time- a community and some sense of structure for entrepreneurs/aspiring entrepreneurs who struggle with focus and motivation. Really appreciate you guys making this.

BTW- I, too, share your frustration over the whole em-dash/AI thing, it's been part of my writing style since 3rd grade.
Hey everyone
I already shared a quick intro in the pinned thread, thought I should make a proper post as well ๐Ÿ˜… My name is Mahedi Kaiser. I work as a programmer in my day job, and Iโ€™ve been offering free career coaching to friends and family for years. Now Iโ€™m working on turning that into a formal program so I can reach more people and also start earning from it. Iโ€™m a proud father to two toddlers, and one of my bigger goals is to use my business to reach financial freedom and be able to support those in need. Looking forward to connecting with fellow entrepreneurs and learning from what youโ€™re building.

Intro to Incluya :)
Hi all! I am Vyjayanthi Vadrevu, introducing myself via my company, https://incluya.com/, as an anthropologist deeply interested in how emotional triggers dictate how we make so many of our financial decisions. Really grateful for Focus Founders as this group as given me SO much good energy and momentum. My only wish is that I did not have meetings scheduled during the exact time of the Eating Frog Zoom calls so I can join more often! Loved meeting so many of you already, and Rex and Bill, deep gratitude for the light you bring to us!
