Hit a PR at Pull For Pride! This is my first competition and I’ve been lifting for almost a year. I have POTS and hEDS so it’s been a slow powerlifting journey. Vegan for 19 years! Happy Pride! 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

Way to go!
Friday Check-In….. Wooooo it’s Friday folks!
Hey everyone 👋 I’ll be posting in here at least once a week to help keep the community active, connected, and consistent. The goal is to keep us checking in, supporting each other, and moving towards real positive change — becoming our best selves and strong ambassadors for a kinder, more vegan world where we live in greater harmony with animals. Alexis and John thought I’d be a great fit for this, so you’ll definitely be hearing a lot more from me. I’m also really big on personal growth and empowerment — I see it as a gift we give ourselves when we prioritise it, and when we do, we can show up even stronger for the animals and the world around us. So without further ado — let’s see where everyone is at 👇 Quick reality check for the week: You don’t need a perfect week. You just need awareness of what actually happened. What’s ONE thing that went well this week? What’s ONE thing you want to improve next week? Drop it below 👇

The training is something that went very well and one thing I need to work on is not taking things so personal. For example if I’m walking down the grocery aisle and someone leaves their cart blocking the path, normally I’d take it as they did it to me on purpose. I’m working on knowing everyone is living their own life and in their own world. Not everything is a personal attack
Do dietary fats matter if I hit the rest of my macros?
Yes, of course. Calories in versus calories out. If you are taking in more calories than you're burning, you're going to be gaining weight. If you're taking in fewer calories than you're burning, you're going to be losing weight. So yes, fats matter. How much do they matter? Do we need to avoid them at all costs? I would say no. For both men and women, fats are essential for hormone production, skin health, brain health, and things along those lines. So you do want to include dietary fats. For women, I don't really like to take them under 35 to 40 grams of fat a day. For men, more like 45 to 50 grams. Those are kind of my bottom-line numbers.

Starting 4 Week Challenge
I'm starting the Vegan Body Reset: 4 Week Fat Loss Challenge this week. Anyone else up for doing it or re-doing it too? Hey, is there a place to get Vegan Squad merch?

Can you be vegan without eating soy?
I do get this question a lot, because soy is a great source of protein. It's actually cardioprotective, but there are some people that are allergic to soy. So what are your options? We've got quite a few. We have seitan. (Make it my way here: https://youtu.be/g8LgS8ZTZic) We have textured pea protein. We have brands like Meaty that use mushrooms. We have fava bean protein. You can use things like pea protein isolate, brown rice protein, pumpkin seed protein, hemp seed protein, and then of course all of the whole food options like nuts, seeds, lentils, beans, nutritional yeast. So could it be done? Could you become a vegan bodybuilder or just a really healthy fit vegan without soy? Of course you can. There's a ton of options out there. Don't limit yourself just because you can't have one food group. List out any I missed below! To see both soy and soy-free options, check out my cookbook. I'm happy to share what I eat and what my clients eat daily! https://vegansquadcoaching.com/COOKBOOK
