Have a good one! Sadly won’t be online as it’s my dad’s birthday today so we’ll be out at dinner this evening. Greetings to all 😀
How much do you use VidIQ? I've just changed a bunch of titles.
I have the basic paid subscription to Vid IQ and I use it to give me basic guidance when uploading videos. To help remind me to use end cards etc. and to score my title, thumbnail and description. I was digging around in there last night and asked it for 'optimisation' help on videos on my channel and saw a lot of videos with titles that scored low (like 44/100 or 60/100). If you use Vid IQ and haven't nosied around into it much like I hadn't, it was good to float back over old videos before I had Vid IQ and swap out titles (video below is showing you how it works). I only picked titles that were true for my video and - being old videos it doesn't matter that much but while watching the new Knives Out movie it was the perfect computer job to tootle around with. Do you use either free or paid Vid IQ much and if so, what do you use it for? Signed, Major Underuser of VidIQ.

I have the paid plan (Boost) and I use the AI coach quite a bit. I find it very helpful for reviewing my progress as it’s got access to my YouTube analytics

Video Surging in Views
Hello everyone. Over the past 4 days I've had a video that has begun to pick up a lot of views, almost 1300 the last I looked. I'm curious what to expect if anyone has had similar experiences? Does it flatline for awhile while YT figures stuff out and resurge or does it continue to get pushed out more and more? A friend that I know had a video go viral (it did get her monetized) about 8 months ago and mentioned that her's did not pick up momentum until day 26. What I have noticed since this interest in the video, is that my other videos have begun to surge as well. Any thoughts, tips, etc?

This is so exciting - well done! It sounds like what happened with my channel in October. Two videos really took off and since then I’ve had so much more information to go on in terms of what’s working for my audience and I’ve been building on that. So my tip would be to use this success and aim to replicate it with future content. Good luck! 🌟

@Just Krista Excellent news! Well done 👏🏼
Viral on the first upload!!
Just found a brand-new YouTuber channel that went viral on its first video about early retirement in your early 50s to regain health and passion. The creator already posted a thoughtful follow-up in their Community tab — really interesting to watch this unfold. https://youtube.com/@waynephipps-over50reset?si=4_PwlAeRVxId8BeQ

That’s extraordinary. Thanks for sharing @Andrea S. I think a key thing in his success is his title - it hits a lot of things - people wanting to know how to make money outside regular 9-5s, the storytelling of hero against the odds (only £20k of savings), his experience as he’s over 50, the promise of facts “here’s what happened”. It will be interesting to follow to see what next
What's the longest you've ever gone not posting any videos?
I'm hitting 4 weeks now, with a new long form video coming out this weekend. This will be the longest time for me I think and while it's not ideal, I am OK with it. I've been wrestling with a couple of script outline-y thingy's for this and the next video and been tempted to just roll with an outline I had a couple weeks ago but then changed my mind. I've not yet filmed a video I wasn't 100% onboard with so why start now? And of course been enjoying doing group lives so that always fills my cup. What's your longest time without posting any videos and why? PS. Pinched this wall art idea from seeing this video from Peter McKinnon when he was visiting the Epidemic Sound studios! I made it in Canva - let me know if you want a copy and I'll drop it in here.
