How do you get HTTPS on a self-hosted n8n webhook? (AWS EC2)
Hey everyone, I'm setting up a workflow with the WhatsApp trigger on my self-hosted n8n (running on AWS EC2). I've run into an issue where Meta won't connect to my webhook because it's http and not https. I know I need to make the URL secure, but I'm not sure what the best practice is, could you help me? What's the simplest and most reliable way you've found to solve this? Thanks for any pointers!

@Ari Moyal Hi Ari now I'm trying with cloudflare, I've "bought" a domain (free) for 1 year and trying to associate it with cloudflare

@Peter Sivo Yes man after a lot of work with a domain and cloudflare it worked
Seeking Guidance!
Hey everyone, Luca here. I'm new to the automation space and just jumped into Nate's Skool. Super excited to be here! I've just finished setting up my initial stack to start learning and building, and I wanted to run it by the community for some feedback. My goal was to get started with powerful tools while keeping costs at zero. Here's my current setup: - Automation Tool: n8n (self-hosted). I chose this to get a deep, hands-on understanding of how everything works under the hood. - Hosting: Running it on an AWS EC2 instance using their 6-month free tier. - AI Integration: Tapping into the Google AI Studio API, which is currently free to use. My main goal is to move past theory and start building practical automations. With that in mind, I have a couple of questions for the more experienced folks here: 1. Is this a solid stack for a beginner? Are there any major pitfalls or limitations I should be aware of with this specific free setup (especially with AWS and Google's API)? 2. What would you recommend as a "rite of passage" first project to build with these tools? I'm looking for something that's challenging but achievable. 3. Are there any other essential (and preferably free/low-cost) tools you think every automation beginner should have in their toolkit? Really appreciate any insights you can share. Fired up to get building!

@Bill Hazelton These are brilliant examples, thank you. The 'end-of-day work summary' is a fantastic idea. You've perfectly explained why these projects are so valuable for learning: immediate feedback and real-world troubleshooting. This gives me a clear framework for choosing the right first project. Really appreciate you taking the time!

@Titus Blair Thanks for the welcome and the great advice! Your point about solving a problem for a community is a game-changer. It shifts the focus from the tool to the solution. Actually I think I wont need a sub to any ai model cause I'm using aistudio (which is unlimited and free if used on their page) with the model 2.5 pro, what do you think about it? And thanks for the tip on serper.dev, I'll check it out!
MERGE NODE ONLY PASSING 1 ITEM INSTEAD OF 2!
hey I'm trying to build a whatsApp chatbot that can handle responses both coming from WhatsApp and web chat widget (using freshchat for this) My whatsapp flow is working fine and very well - so basically I build the whatsapp chatbot. now I want to make this workflow or ai agent also handle responses and respond intelligently on a web chat widget for that I'm using webhook so that whenever a user messages something on the web chat widget it receives the messages. So I have two webhooks - one that catches messages from whatsapp and another one that catches messages from web chat widget - both are working fine - I have tested it. however when it comes to merging the output from both with 'merge node' it is only giving me my whatsapp data output and not my web chat widget output. Can anyone tell me why is this happening? Basically my merge node is only passing 1 item instead of passing 2 item.

@Md Ayaan Ali check the logs to understand how the workflow is operating, if you want you can share some screenshots to us

@Md Ayaan Ali maybe I'm not understanding, do you want the api to operate a single time with two messages both in the same prompt or do you want 2 diff calls?
👀 DeepCode: Open Agentic Coding
DeepCode: Open Agentic Coding (Paper2Code & Text2Web & Text2Backend) AI Agents can now turn research papers and URLs into working code. DeepCode uses multi-agent systems to convert PDFs, text prompts, and URLs into complete production-ready codebases with frontend, backend, and algorithms. 100% Opensource. Video

This is the future of development, right here. Making it open source is a huge move.

@Adam Fortuna That's also good but think of the fact that more is the competition, better will be the tools that we can use. Do you agree?
Unpopular opinion: most agencies are secretly losing money with the tools they use 💸
After looking at dozens of agencies, here’s the truth most vendors won’t tell you: 90% of agencies are losing money with their current setup. Here’s why: 1. too many tools: the average agency pays for 7+ subscriptions with overlapping features 2. false productivity: teams feel busy, but client results aren’t improving 3. missed strategy: agencies focus on routine tasks and ignore high-value client work Agencies that are actually growing clients with the same team do things differently: • use 2-3 core tools max • plan workflows before picking tools • measure hours saved per client, not just automation • spend saved time on high-value client strategy The real opportunity isn’t just doing more tasks faster, it’s rethinking how your agency delivers value. 💬 What’s your biggest frustration with your current setup?

This resonates deeply. I'm just starting out and made a conscious decision to self-host n8n on AWS precisely to avoid this 'tool bloat' from day one. Your point about planning workflows before picking tools is absolute gold. Thanks for sharing.
