Technical Founder Struggling With Sales – What Would You Do?
Hey everyone, I could really use some advice from people who have actually built and scaled AI agencies. My partner and I recently started an AI automation agency in India focused on real estate. We're both strong on the technical side and build custom AI systems ourselves. Our main offers are: - A WhatsApp AI agent that qualifies leads, answers property queries, recommends properties, and books site visits. - A complete AI agentic system with Voice AI for follow-ups, appointment scheduling, customer support, and other automations. We've tried a lot of local outreach, especially door-to-door visits, but the results have been disappointing. Most SMEs here either don't understand the value of AI yet or expect everything to be extremely cheap. I even tried lowering my price to just $50 for some offers, but that still didn't generate much interest. From what I know about international markets, these same solutions can easily sell for $1,000+ when positioned correctly. The good news is we aren't starting from zero: - We signed a large real estate client who's currently on a one-month free trial. - We're also in discussions with a quick-commerce company (through a referral) for a WhatsApp AI customer support system worth around $500 if the deal closes. The challenge is that I don't think staying focused only on the local market is the right long-term move. I want to start getting international clients. The problem is: - We have no budget for paid ads right now. - Door-to-door obviously isn't possible internationally. - I'm much stronger at building AI systems than I am at sales calls, and I'm not very confident on cold calls in English. - I do have experience with digital marketing, especially Meta ads, but that's not an option without a budget. So my question is: If you were starting from scratch today with solid technical skills but no ad budget, how would you land your first 5-10 international AI automation clients? Would you focus on cold email, LinkedIn, X, Loom videos, Upwork, partnerships, communities, content, or something else?

@Uncle Jimmy Mitchell Thank you for your insights Jimmy. I too decided the same thing you mentioned like creating a base here and then go for international market. Another thing I would like your suggestion is should I be focused on just 1 niche initially? And also many people suggested me to start basic content that will create credibility and also inbound leads if you stay consistent in future. Also as I mentioned I was doing door to door and its like very time consuming and still its just cold because they are not expecting me . So what other free outreach method should I do . Like cold calls always comes to my mind but just get nervous doing that . Dms are not geeting seen . The thing is I am not able to decide upon one thing I just overthink everything.
I can build the product. I freeze the moment I have to sell it
Hey everyone 👋 Started an AI automation agency in India a couple months back — learned mostly from US YouTube channels and how agencies operate there. Built a WhatsApp automation agent for real estate (instant lead qualification, property matching, site visit booking) — priced it at just ₹5,000/month (~$50), way cheaper than what I've seen locally. Went door-to-door to real estate consultants in my city. Got a lot of "we'll think about it," "too expensive," and "show us existing clients first." Pivoted to my personal network instead — landed one free-trial client who's actually 5x bigger than anyone I met cold. Also in talks with a used-tractor dealership getting 100+ WhatsApp inquiries a day. Here's my honest struggle: I'm confident in the building/product side — I'll happily spend hours perfecting the automation. But outreach is where I freeze. Just thinking about cold calls or walk-ins kills my confidence before I even start. Added pressure — I'm a fresh grad, and if I don't show real traction in the next 1-2 months, my parents want me to take a ₹10k job instead. I believe in this business. I just need to close 5 paying clients this month to prove it to myself (and them) — but I keep overthinking the "how" instead of just doing it. Would genuinely appreciate advice from people who've been through this exact wall — how did you push through the outreach fear in your early days? Any real, tactical advice welcome. Not looking for motivation quotes, just what actually worked for you. Thanks for reading this far 🙏
Client onboarding used to take me 45 minutes per client. Now it takes 60 seconds automatically.
Hi all I've been struggling with client onboarding after they sign, and I know a lot of you have too. Client signs → you manually send welcome email, create their folder, log them in your sheet, schedule kickoff call. 45 minutes of admin. Every. Single. Time. Here's how I automated the whole thing for less than $10/m: 1. Client fills a Tally form after signing Name, email, company, service. One form. That fires everything. 2. GPT-4 sends a personalized welcome email Mentions their name and service. Sounds human. Sent via Gmail automatically. 3. Google Drive folder created instantly Named after their company. Shared with them automatically. 4. Google Sheets logs the new client Name, email, service, start date — added automatically to your CRM. 5. You get an instant notification So you always know when a new client is fully onboarded. Total cost: ~$8/m. Every client gets a 5-star experience from day one. If anything is unclear, let me know. Hope this helps you 🙏

My Game plan
I want the experienced ones here to go through this once and give me advice if any comes in your mind. 3 partners starting an Ai agency for real estate agents. We have built our website: https://realtyrocket-system.lovable.app (Loom video still pending) We have thousands of ad credits on linkedin so we are gonna use them to get inbound appointments. The services we are offering are : -meta ads -ai caller (that will book the appointments on automation) -ai chatbots -crm setup(GHL) And our offer is getting 25-30 booked appointments without any involvement of the realtor. The charges we are thinking are - $1997 as Setup fees - 1st month no charge - $997/month for 2nd &3rd

@Uncle Jimmy Mitchell Appreciate your response. But as per our research the main problem of the realtors is to continously take follow ups of the leads before finally closing them. And with all our services we setting free the realtor from all this. He just needs to close the deals thats it.
Mentorship
Hey everyone, I’m Kunj from India, a university student who’s been trying to build an SMMA for the past year. I've invested in courses, done thousands of cold outreaches, taken sales calls, even closed a free trial client—but unfortunately, nothing has worked out the way I’d hoped. I’ve tried doing it all by myself, but I now realize I need proper guidance to understand where I’m going wrong. If anyone here is willing to mentor me (even for free if possible), I’d be genuinely grateful. I’m also open to working for free with established agencies just to get hands-on experience, understand real agency operations, and learn the ropes. I’m even ready to share a percentage of what I earn in the future in exchange for honest guidance and support. All I want is a chance to learn and grow under someone experienced. I’m hardworking, eager to learn, and serious about making this work. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help or guide me!

@Emmett McCarry Thank you for the replies. But honestly I don't have any other way coz I dont have money to pay for mentorship. All I need is someone who can give me some time. You are already making money and thats because you worked hard for that. But not everyone is able to even after doing work. Am just finding for a guy who can actually help me a little I know its hard but there will be that 1 supportive one in 1000s. Thats the only way I have
