Press Coverage
Newbie Question - Has anyone ever put out a press release for a book launch?
Best way to ruin a good day
Wanna know how to really burn a guy's a....good attitude? Find out half the giant manuscript is done with bullet points and the other half is not.

Expensive lesson learned? Something to teach your future students NOT to do? Either way, ouch. Upside: now you get to reimagine your half side again, with even better bullets than the other half...???
Printing in black, not gray-black
I submitted my manuscript in a pdf file to the printer. They emailed me that what looks 100% black on my screen is really less than that and will print gray-ish. They didn’t really offer a solution, other than “click on black” in font color selection. I’m using Word in Win 11 (then converting to pdf). Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

Did you test out the Line Spacing option (Format > Paragraph) and see what difference that makes after the PDF is done? I do my writing in Word, with a 1.5 line spacing and Lato 12 font for easy reading before publishing. Let me know if this helps!

@Owen Bergman I hear ya. I may do just that as well, before PDFing. For the reader glasses I wear, I NEED that space between lines! ha
Should I do Audio on my books?
I have a lot of people who ask if my books are available to be listened to. Should I invest the time and money to make them into Audio books?

@Rob Cole IS it possible to DIY the voice narration, then get a pro to re-do it when more funds come in?

2026 Focus/Resolutions
For 2026 my focus will be to: 1) "Build a recognizable point of view" as part of an online presence whereby others will begin to identify me as an authentic content contributor in a specified area or someday be considered an authority (so to speak) in a certain arena 2) Commit focusing on developing content ready for posting to a social media platform throughout this year on a schedule that is doable for me and incorporate where appropriate components relative to my forthcoming book or books 3) Post above referenced content to one social media platform each week and, if feasible, build towards posting daily throughout the week. 4) Being committed to being done with "waiting to feel ready". Over the years I've held onto numerous ideas, researched those areas, but never really took any serious actions towards implementing. Today I am resolving that those days are over.

@Gary Anderson - Getting down to the nitty gritty is a huge accomplishment. The foundation of any goal is usually 'get back to basics.' I like this resolution, and I ll be rooting for ya. Keep us updated, and we will keep you accountable.
