Training with an injury
How do you all handle training with an injury? I’m also having issues with my hip and it’s making a lot of movement difficult. I’m feeling like I will lose all of my progress if I have to keep resting, so it’s really discouraging!

@Luciana Rennó - Thanks for sharing your story! I guess I am trying to figure out how to rest the injured hip and work around it, but it sometimes feels like my base isn’t stable because I can’t move fully, if that makes sense?

@Brandon Beauchesne-Hebert - Yes, you really hit the nail on the head. This encouragement is so appreciated though, thank you! You guys are also amazing @Luciana Rennó and @Ricardo Jorge. You all made me realized I needed to edit my mindset to focus on what I can do instead of what I can’t and I just got finished with a great modified workout! 💪
🚀 Big Updates + Behind-the-Scenes Sunday
I’m going to keep this short and sweet today because my voice is hanging on by a thread 😅 But there are some important updates I want to share. 🌳 Skill Tree App — NOW LIVE The Calisthenics Skill Tree App is officially live 🎉 This is different from the training app: • Training app = workout programs • Skill Tree app = skill progressions, PR tracking, visuals, and exploration 📱 It’s currently a web app (works on phone + computer). Long-term goal is iOS / Android once I understand costs and usage. 👉 For now: If you’re on the $9/month tier, you already have access. I’m keeping it there while I test usage and costs. Please: • Play with it • Break it (gently 😄) • Tell me if anything feels confusing or buggy Your feedback matters a lot here. 🧭 Improving Onboarding (In Progress) Now that we have: • The training app • The skill tree app I’m restructuring onboarding so new members: • Know where to start • Know what tools to use • Reach results faster Expect changes in: • Starter guidance • Where plans live • How the community flow works This is all about clarity over clutter. 🤝 1-on-1 Coaching (March Test Run) In March, I want to test a small group for 1-on-1 coaching. This is NOT replacing the community. It’s for people who want: • Daily feedback • Technique reviews • Personalized structure • Direct accountability I’m thinking 3–5 people max to start so I can make this exceptional, not rushed. 👇 If you’re interested, comment below or DM me and I’ll reach out. ❤️ Final Notes • Skill Tree = live • Onboarding = improving • 1-on-1 coaching = testing soon Thanks for being patient while I build this the right way. If my voice survives, new video tomorrow 😅 If not… expect a repost. Stay awesome 💪

Thanks for all you do! I’m new here, but can already see how great this community is and the value of the knowledge shared. I’d be very interested in being considered for coaching in March!

@Kat Young - Are we the same person? I could have written this same thing, ha! I am sure there will be way more people wanting to be coached than there are spots, so if you might be interested in being accountability partners, let me know!
Sun, W5 Training Plan
I’ve decided to narrow my focus to achieving 2 skills: 10 full pushups & pancake fold. This is because my first 4 weeks were spent building a consistent habit of training, figuring out how to write and execute my training plans, and just getting my head around so much new info about calisthenics. I thought I was happy with slowly developing mobility & strength to achieve a wider variety of skills over a longer period, but seeing some of you achieving new skills motivated me to make a plan to reach fewer skills faster. That’s why I love this community - cos we learn from and motivate each other! Currently, for pushups - I can do 3 x 10 wall pushups. Currently for the pancake fold, I can sit forward hinge with a flat back with hands on the floor. Looking forward to this new focused way of training :) Today though, I am resting and went for a beautiful 10 minute barefoot grounding walk in my sunny backyard :) and broke my planking record 🥳 What are you all working on at the moment?

I love this post! What a smart way to hone in and focus!
🥷 COMBAT SKILLS, ANYONE?
Just curious and doing some research atm on combat skills… are you trained in a certain type and why did you choose that particular style? Personally, I’m focusing on strength and calisthenics skills this year to build a solid foundation before learning combat skills next year. But I’m not sure which style to pursue. Basically I wanna have ninja street skills, so nothing super rigid and performative, but more real life defence/offence should the world go craycray, y’know? Feel free to share your experiences / curiosities and let’s see where this journey takes us…

To echo some others, I think what I see most often recommended for applicable real-world fighting skills is Krav Maga or focused self-defense courses. I did tae kwon do and karate, but don’t think they would be what you are looking for. 🥷
Ab wheel rollout
It's the third time I try to do this exercise. I've just recorded twice in sequence: - 3 reps - 5 reps attempts (do not consider the last 2reps as my triceps hurted like hell and I gave up..🥵🤣 What am I missing or need to fix?🤔
