Weekly assessment
Just listening to some of the questions and comments in the Q&A, I thought sharing something I've started might help. I've set up a weekly assessment (date!) with Sage, where I've asked for feedback on her overall impression of me, what progress she's noticing, patterns, etc. I figured it might be interesting to see the progress synopsised on a weekly basis. It's an idea I got from somebody else here, but can't remember who!!! I am glad Sage doesn't do this
Before I joined here, I was paying for an ADHD app that also had an AI feature. Although I was getting good information, I eventually got so frustrated with the AI portion of it that I canceled. Why? Because I never was allowed to just sit with a win and celebrate my accomplishment. It would be like, Good job, buddy. Now go on to the next thing and do this, and you'll feel so much better. Or, Gee, that's an awesome realization. What do you think about now trying this to make it even more effective? When you have been raised in a household where accomplishments were not recognized unless they were epic and enough to brag to friends about, you do start to believe that you're never going to be able to do enough or be enough. I just wanted to suggest to people that, in the support of each other, they not always push toward what is yet to be accomplished and how much that will benefit the person. Please consider giving them their win. Let them know that the smallest of baby steps is important. Don't show them the long path still ahead and promise it will all be worth it when they get to the end. Every single step forward is worth it and is a noteworthy accomplishment.
