Flexibility vs Mobility vs Freedom of Movement
Most people throw these words around like they mean the same thing… but they’re very different. Flexibility is what you can get into with help. Gravity, a partner, or your own hand pushing you deeper. Think of dropping into the splits or folding forward in a stretch. Mobility is active. It’s about strength through range. Picture a karate kick, that’s mobility. Most people get all the mobility they need by doing full range of motion on exercises (which most people don't). Freedom of movement is the next level. It’s not about one stretch or drill. It’s when mobility connects with your mind-body awareness so you can flow — linking movements like a dance rather than ticking off reps. That’s where you see true fluidity, like in gymnastics, parkour, or calisthenics flows. If you want to be bendy, train flexibility. If you want to feel and move better, train mobility. If you want to unlock your potential, train freedom of movement and suddenly your body feels like it can do anything. šŸ’¬ Comment below if you want Flexibility, Mobility or Freedom of Movement broken down in more detail.

@Brandon Beauchesne-Hebert had to start with mobility training for my shoulders. They wouldn’t allow me to stack properly. I have been doing advanced calisthenics for 6 years now.
