Make Clean the Inside
“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees… ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Cleanse first that which is within, that the outside of thee may be clean also.” — Matthew 23:25–26 (KJV) Too often, we focus on looking spiritual, disciplined, or “put together” while ignoring the inside: our thoughts, beliefs, and intentions. Take a moment today to check your inner cup. What needs cleaning? What energy, thought, or belief are you holding that doesn’t serve you?
Meditation Monday
Practicing meditation allows you to rewire the functioning of your brain and nervous system. It has been proven that 12 minutes a day for two weeks is enough to grow new neural connections and matter in the brain. Enlightenment is already within you but the mind gets so noisy that you miss it. Commit to 12 minutes a day for the next two weeks and watch how the mind comes to silence and you’re awareness remains in the present. How long have you been meditating? How long did it take you to see a real difference in how your mind was functioning?

I've been keeping with it but I'm looking forward to making time for more group meditation. I need to pick a time and see if anyone would like to join me for Zazen.
Gratitude
Gratitude doesn’t just make life feel “good”, it elevates the mundane, the everyday, into something reverent. A simple cup of tea, the sunshine on your skin, a quiet breath, they become moments of connection, of sacred presence, when met with awareness and thanks. It’s not about changing reality, just changing your perception, turning ordinary life into a practice of noticing, honoring, and being fully awake.
Stay.
When life is disturbed, when the mind is churned with thoughts, emotions, or pain, we rush to “go somewhere else” for peace. We think clarity exists somewhere beyond this moment. But the Buddha’s message is simple: stay. Return to the same place, the same moment, the same stream. Wait. Watch. Don’t interfere. Because nothing is permanent. The mud settles. The clarity returns. The mind clears itself when we stop running from it.

For every moment I have. I don't know if you can find a greater teacher than gratitude. It is essential for peace and happiness. It shows us that what we have is enough, and once we realize that, the ordinary is revealed to be magical.
